Ah, don't worry about Large, his manners are small.

Here's my attempt

MP3: http://www.elanhickler.com/misc/woody_bass.mp3
Midi: http://www.elanhickler.com/misc/woody_bass.mid (95bpm)

Code: Select all

           Saw Wave
               |
    (Left)<---/ \--->(Right)
      | |
Formant Filter Formant Filter
      | |
       \ ____ ____ /
              \ /
               |
       Stereo Bit Crusher
               |
      (Low and Hi EQ boost)
               |
              Out
Modulate the both Formant Filters slowly and separately.

Not bad, but where's the preset?
If you have a sound request for the SYTRUS PRESET FORUM, upload a TRIMMED mp3 example of it. Or name a plugin or soundset which has the raw sound. Then I can clone it for you.

My signal chain is KarmaFX --> FilterBank3 --> ReaEQ

You would have to have these plugins for the presets to be useful. However, everyone has access to a saw wave, bitcrusher, and equalizer. I'm not sure if there are any good free formant filters though.

The only 'free' effect I've seen that has a formant filter of some kind is AtlantisFilter.dll (comes with Atlantis)

Can't you make a formant filter simply by layering multiple SVF bandpass filters at different cutoff frequencies?

(much the same way as you would make a Phaser)

This sound doesn't require a formant filter, a band pass with individually selectable cut off points will do.
