Well, I've tried the demo of Slayer 2, and couldn't get anything convincing from it... (but I think that it is me who didn't know how to use it well... )

Well, if you want the best regardless of cost Jeffn's choices; EZDrummer for drums, Prominy LPC (clean) for guitars, and Scarbee for basses along with Kontakt 3 (to load LPC) and Guitar rig 3 for guitar amp beats MOR - but once you add up the cost for all the pieces I think you'll easily pay twice the price of MOR.

Even the official demo mp3 of Slayer2 isn't remotely convincing. Not even in the ballpark (I have, as I previously mentioned, been playing guitar for some years). It's not you. No offense to the developers, but so far the only things approaching convincing are massively multi-sampled libraries. LPC and RealGuitar/RealStrat, and to a lesser extent ManyGuitar, are the only ones that can fool me for even a second.

Sounds pretty cool grinkor, the main thing I noticed was the powerchords would sound more realistic if you didn't hit all the 'strings' all at once; perhaps you could use a midi chord strumming plugin?

I'm glad you like it. I spent los of time programming it. And the Unrealistic Powerchords is something I couldn't fix yet. They are actually real power chords from VSL: Building a power chord out of single distorted samples sounds like a distorted keyboard instead of a guitar. It seems that the muted samples and the power chords one require different settings in the amp sim because no matter how much I try to make it natural (inserting a short reverb, a compressor, setting up longer fade times in the sampler) it sounds unnatural to me.

Perhaps the best guitar sample library for metal is one with clean DI-recorded samples, (so you can get more flexibility when playing bends and weird chords) but I don't know any.
All clean guitar samples I know are recorded trough an amp and a mic and I think that is the reason of roomy and noisy sound when you try to run them through an amp sim: whith the strong distortion you need to make metal, you are boosting too much the level of the recording room, and the amp cab's resonance.

So, what's the most dry recorded guitar library?
