so is there a dummy's guide for installing on windows?

looks more confusing than i thought,

do i need to compile anything?

i make a setup this work but in the uninstall i can't make the asio unregister when this work correctly i upload the url to download

I agree with djsubject that Jack is quite a bit confusing, but at last I got it working. I'm using Jack and Maple MIDI to create a sort of Rewire substitute between Usine and Reason, sending MIDI from Usine to Reason and getting audio in return. Only Usine uses the hardware ins/outs.

I'm wondering if you have any tips with one problem though: In Usine, I managed to get an ASIO block size of 128 which matches with the reported latency of 8.3 ms at 44.1 in the Jack setup window. Playing manually also feels "right". However, in Reason, the JackRouter ASIO has 512 bytes (with a reported latency of 25 ms which matches with 8.3 ms * 3, not 8.3 * 4), and the delay is also clearly audible. I was under the impression that the latency should be the same for all Jack clients, or..?

Another thing I find strange, is the Connections and Patchbay windows in Jack. Unless I'm doing something wrong, Patchbay only connects clients together, not the individual in- and output jacks, which is done in Connections. Patchbay also lets one name the jacks, but the names aren't visible neither in Connections nor in the clients. It also seems that the Connections defaults to connect more or less everything to everything, so that connections have to be removed. Any idea of a practical way of setting up the connections to avoid repatching?

Just out of curiosity, would this make Pro Tools available to non-proprietary sound cards?

only if pro tools uses an asio driver; which I assume it does not

How to make your ASIO driver work with FL Studio? It also does not work with Reaper as shown in the picture below (no selectable inputs/outputs)...

I used the Windows installer setup you posted a few posts up. It gave me some weird error during installation. The following are my installation settings:

Destination location:
C:\Program Files\Jack

Start Menu folder:
Jack

Additional tasks:
Add application directory to your system path

I get the following error, after which setup finishes:

Yeah, I did that and the dll registration succeeded. But I still do not see inputs/outputs in Reaper. I also cannot open the ASIO configuration panel.

hi, i've got jack working and i have run a couple of apps but haven't tried routing them to each other yet because i want to get the jack transport to control all apps but it doesn't work like that. i have to press each play button
seperately, just wondering if it functions yet, or not? anyone get the transport to sync?

Perhaps i'm stating the obvious...but try ticking the 'enable outputs' box.
