note to self: learn tune first, THEN announce collabWatto wrote:Yeah, I think One Note Samba had too many musical differences to go anywhere. Oh, well, this'll be fine, er, I think
hey Watto, it's gonna be fine! What's the harm in anyone doing whatever they want. If somebody wants to grunt or run an arpeggiator over it, no problem. I'm not gonna do a final mix on this or anything.
I'm just thinking a couple of guitar choruses over a generic backing, with space for a couple more choruses, for whoever wants to have a go, in whatever manner they're accustomed. Everybody does their own mix.
If you (or anyone) want to do something a little more polished that'd be great too, I'll send ya the guitar track only, or whatever. yeah obviously my preference is also 'acoustic jazz' but hey, we're already faking it -- i'm sitting here playing to a click, you're gonna overdub something on my click, hey...

yow, March 20th -- ok ok, sorry for the delay! nah, I didn't give up on it, I, uhh... I failed to anticipate how crappy my chops have become. What a cruel surprise!Watto wrote:Have you given up on this, beboop, or am I still waiting for a track? I could record a bed for you to play over if you like
this one's not too terrible, hopefully it's enough to get this thing started. Changes are the old Real Book changes except bars 21-22,change to Gm7 | C7. Tempo is 132. Four choruses, two of which are already occupied with guitar noodlings, two unsullied for anyone who wants to have a go.
anybody wants to do a new rhythm section, or a part, that'd be great too

ha... i played an arrangement of "emily" way back in high school. think it was in e minor then.
anyway, if someone can get me the changes (and possibly melody), i'll play trombone.

This is what I've got:

I think it's close enough to beboop's, bearing in mind his changes for bars 21-22.

I was gonna post them but I see Watto already has (thanks watto!). yeah, that's the one I used -- change bars 21-22 to Gm7 | C7, everything else is the same.bernhardtjeff wrote: anyway, if someone can get me the changes (and possibly melody), i'll play trombone.
