Ok i don't exactly know what goes on behind the scenes but i guess that means the multiplication seemingly makes the volume go up/down at first in the effect, (it does so in the logic ringmod it seems), kind of lfo style. Well if i was a coder i guess i would find some effect to smooth things out in the start of the ringmod effect to make some nice transition.

New Version:
I changed the behaviour of the volume faders: if one of the input faders is turned down, you will only hear the signal of the other one. So if X is the input signal and Y is switched to internal OSC, if you move Y fader from zero up, the modulation will fade in. (I think that's what zeep meant)
