Mein gott! I was just wishing for this exact thing :)

that's great news! but if i read it right, even if the developer buys a licence, the user has to buy a licence too..which scuppers a lot of freeware devs.boo.

[quote="12equalboresme.com"The Developer mode enables all features of the Microtuner when it is loaded in SynthEdit, and unlocks the demo time limit in both SynthEdit and VSTs generated by SynthEdit. Developers may distribute their microtuned VSTs to others, who it turn need their own license. User mode is a lower-priced registration entered from a VST. It enables VST microtuning, but doesn't enable all needed features when the Microtuner module is opened in SynthEdit.

Registration is hardware based, and license keys may be requested for two PCs. Additional keys may be requested for replacement PCs, or PC upgrades if necessary. An alternate, portable registration method can be provided on a contingency basis. Either User or Developer registration covers any number of microtuned VSTs, support, and all future upgrades.[/quote]

Indeed. Hmm. That's too bad - I'll still try to use it, though I am highly aware that the glut of VSTs and user laziness will severely limit the number of people who bother to try this :(

I overdid it with user licensing thing. I haven't changed the code, but I have changed the policy. User licensing is still required, but now it's donationware, and I'll issue free registrations on request. For a donation (which goes to the World Wildlife Fund), I'll include a new microtonal synth:

This is a 4 operator Phase Mod synth with a twist: It has an extra custom module that pushes the current scale to the tuning controls of each operator. Feeding just intonation intervals into FM-style routings seems to give a more interesting harmonic alignment than the usual FM clang.

re_strauss, I think you should make a thread here in the Instruments forum about your microtonal synths. And put them in the database. When people go hunting for microtonal synths, we can direct them to the thread that way.

I also made a thread about CK's separates thread but I'll mention it here since I'm bumping it.
