Indeed. Pretty much even.Rock Hardbuns wrote: Actually have to disagree with that. Higher sample rates can improve sound quality quite audibly when you are dealing with soft synths and effects.
But then, I'm absolutely happy being able to run almost all of my projects in realtime right now, without any freezing / inbetween bouncing actions. Wouldn't even be remotely possible at any higher sample rates (ok, probably at 48kHz, but that still doesn't justify the effort IMO, plus, I'm not working for any DVD/TV authoring or whatever).
For me, it'll be 44.1 for quite a while I think.

I'm use 44.1 KHz / 16-bit. From what I've read, the expert opinion seems to be that 24-bit is noticeably better for audio, and 96K is noticeably better for soft synths and effects. So, if I were more "serious" about this, I'd probably use 24-bit / 96 Khz as my operating standard. But this is a hobby whose purpose is to provide me some entertainment exploring musical ideas, and so cranking the sample rate and bit depth to maximize my audio quality aren't my highest priority. I'd rather get good audio quality and be able to run a few more plug-ins, rather than push my settings to a higher level.

Okay, I don't really know, but it's a lot. The BNC cable I use to connect my word clock is solid gold and insulated with baby intestines.

SAP, I'm sorry. But the only power source capable of generating 1.21 gigawatts of electricity is a bolt of lightning.

A bolt of lighting. Unfortunately, you never know when or where it's ever gonna strike.

It all depends on what the final track count is going to be. With very high track counts, I use 88.2, but mostly I use 44.1
Please understand that this is coming from someone who quotes Terry Pratchett - Melkor
