Hello. I use the Crossfade Loop Synth 3 with Logic Pro and when I want to save my patch, the sample from the preset is not saved with it. I select the tab and choose Save Preset As... Is there any way to save the wav/aif file with it? thx

Sorry, this isn't possible right now.
I understand you to mean that you want to save the actual sample audio data with the preset. Currently the plug-in stores the sample file name and location with the preset, which I assume is working fine for you?

Yes but the Crossfade Synth sounds different after I load a Logic project again. It doesnt save or load correctly. When I load a preset I saved manually, it loads properly.
Im using osx 10.5.2 and Logic Pro 8

That doesn't sound right then.
Could you take a screenshot of the plug-in GUI before save and after you load the Logic project? It should be easy enough to spot any differences.

The waveform looks different.
The "Buffer Size" section is gone, as well as the "Record" section.
I need to reload the AU plugin because loading another preset in the same instance of the plugin doesn't work.

You appear to have found a bug in Logic - though I just tried it and I can only make it go wrong the other way round i.e. I save a project with the synth version of XFLS loaded (no buffer/record section) and when I reload it I get the effect version (with buffer/record section). I'll mail Apple and see what they say.

Apparently the same thing happens with some Native Instruments plug-ins - which bodes well for a speedy fix from Apple.

Hey, Ive got it working by disabling the FX version of Crossfade Synth in the Audio Unit Manager in Logic. Lovely
The FX and the instrument version are both named the same in Logic's Audio Unit Manager so I guess Logic switch them up at start up.
Are you running Leopard or Tiger? Are u running Logic 8 or 7? Which NI plugins are you talking about? I have Kontakt 2 and Elektrik Piano 1.5 working perfectly in Logic 8. They both don't have an effect version, though. I can't test anything else because those are the only plugins I have

It was Pro-53 I was referring to, as one example.
AUs are identified by 3 codes: the plug-in type, the manufacturer ID and the plug-in ID. In the case of Crossfade Loop Synth (and presumably Pro-53), the two versions have the same manufacturer and plug-in IDs, and rely on the differing plug-in types to differentiate them. It's this that Logic 8 is getting wrong.

Logic 8.0.2 is now released, which should fix this particular bug.
