Thanx Klaus :-D

I understand that some instruments are indeed very quirky with things like this.

But I think maybe we are being a bit picky. As the quality is obvious and any of the problems with the samples don't really stand out unless you do a run through the keyboard.

Keep up the great work!!

Cheers,
DJJ

Solina is perfect...
Suit88 seems to be ok...
CX3 from G5 to C7 there's the noise I mentioned before but it doesn't seem as loud...I've heard this same kind of noise on some free soundfonts I've d/led before too...kind of like what you hear on your speakers when your cell phone interferes...

CX3 has some noise on specific keys, like the original Hammond. But it depends on the drawbar setting.
Hi Klaus...Thanx for the info on some on the anomalies...I can understand in most cases, but with the CX3 one mentioned above, it seems a more electronic thing as it's also the same type of noise I heard on some Tubi samples during beta tests...can you double-check this from the beta version rather than from the samples and see if you hear what I'm talking about(on sustained notes)?.....(loop points?)

peace,
Ford

WilliamK wrote:DevonB, the click on turning ON the delay is normal, it would take more CPU to just remove it, and since is only when you turn ON/OFF maybe is not a big deal. ;) The Degrate emulates a true TAPE-ECHO device, making noises and distortion. Is fun to use with some sort of music.
No, it's not a big deal, just reporting what I find. :) The 'Degrade' only gets annoying with quiet decay/release samples like SUIT88 whereas you hear the 'noise' build upon itself when you sustain a note. :) Easy enough to just turn it off for those presets though.

The DIGITS are also almost ready, and it will show each parameter value by just moving the mouse over it.
Sync to tempo parameters for the delay as well, I hope too? ;) Or at least let me use my sustain pedal!

I am using EVE with Sonar 2.2 XL and FXpansion VST/DXi adapter. So far, it has worked well with this setup. The only tiny thing that I can make happen is when I'm really getting crazy, playing several notes in unision and creating a ton of sound, it the GUI sort of deselects itself and there is a tiny pause. But its rare when that happens, and like a said, you really have to get rought with it before I see that happen. So far, its excellent.

As long as it doesn't crash. ;) Maybe is the VU updater, just close the GUI, does that helps?

I closed the GUI and it works fine.

Tomorrow we will release the new beta-version with new features and a new display and logo. It will also have the DIGITS to show the current parameter value and a new ADSR envelope that sounds much better.

And sustain pedal, right? ;)

Yes, I allready added it this week, just holding to do a more in-depth beta-testing. So far it works as suposed here. :P

Here is a prev list:

- Sustain pedal
- Delay Sync to Tempo
- Tool-Tips on mouse-over
- Digits to display the parameter value on mouse-over
- Totally new ADSR envelope with special internal curves for Attack, Decay and Release (not user selectable, pre-defined)

NEW BETA UPDATE 9

This is the first part of the new beta, wich has a lot of new features and updates. :D
  • We finally defined wich Logo we will use, not all will like. But have in mind that this is a RETRO look synth. ;)
  • Sustain pedal works
  • Delay BPM-Tempo to Seconds
  • Tool-Tips on mouse-over (not ready on all parameters yet)
  • Digits to display the parameter value on mouse-over (still need to add a digits that will display DB HZ etc But have in mind this: Lfo-Rates = HZ, Volume = DB, etc...
  • Totally new ADSR envelope with special internal curves for Attack, Decay and Release (not user selectable, pre-defined)
Please, check in depth since there were a lot of changes and we must be totally sure that no bugs were left behind.

Best Regards, WilliamK

Ummm... cute interface.... I don't like it, but I get what you're after. Problem though is the contrast is not enough and makes it hard to read. And when something displays in the logo area, I feel like I'm reading some ransom note that somebody cut up out of magazine letters! Maybe if the background was darker for the 'red', it make it easier, but now it's just plain annoying. I shouldn't have to struggle to read the interface.

Delay to MIDi tempo! Awesome.... but... How do I know what I have it set for? The interface gives no inditation of if it's set for 1/8D or 1/4T by checkmarks, or the display on the master panel. Don't tell me I have to know off the top of my head that .16 is 1/8T, please??? :)

Well, that's the design and we are sticking with it. Some will love, some will not. The letters are suposed to look like that. But your comment about not being easy to read could be related to the monitor and resolution you are using. Here on my LCD at 1024x768 is very easy and nice to read. ;)

About the delay comment. What I did is a BMP to Seconds converter, is not a real sync. This way you can select 1/4, and tweak the time a bit. Is much more usefull. EG: 120 bmp, 2/4 is 0.50 seconds, but you may want to use 0.54 seconds let's say on the Left channel, and 0.50 on the right, is just more fun. ;) This will be detailed on the manual.
