Hi, Spacedad. Could you give a description on what effect does what, I couldn't find any on the forum or his site.

Thanks

Post

Hiya, cheers to Spacedad for posting the link. In the folder titled 'my vstfx' there is a notepad ... says 'please read' or something .... all the info is in there.

I have uploaded 13 synths as well, ( see my vst synths folder ) but there's no info on them at the mo .... will get something written up soon though ... will post here when its done.....

But briefly ...
'Wingy-Stingy' is based loosely on Wasp and Simsynth,
'Widewave' has six oscs and creates some nice thick sounds ... fairly straightforward panel,
'Warpfare' is a bit more of a puzzle, but its main thrust is delayed modulation
'Airy-fairy' employs an element of tuned noise for 'airy' sounds, but can do interesting percussive sounds as well
'Fredswobbler' is a mad LFO fest
'Madmixer' is an inputless mixer with a white noise source ... has its uses, but errr ...
'Multisweep' is a very simple synth attached to an effect which became multisweepfx ( see 'my vst fx' folder' for info )
'bucketjob' is a psuedo random tone generator ... very strange!
'Dirtybomb' was built using SM demo version, intermittent white noise hardly a prob though when it comes to mixdown! ... this ones fairly easy to suss!
The rest are my early attempts .. with crap skins, useful nonetheless!

... all free ... enjoy!

Post

I'm sorry but do you have a url for the synth folder? Some sound interesting :)

Post

hi thunderdrums,it's there in the first post.the mediamax thingy.

Right, sorry guys, I have not finished writing up descriptions of those synths yet, but .... having been introduced to 'Savihost' via Spacedad, I've created standalone versions of them and posted them up. So if you just want to download them and have a good fart about, then feel free!

Here's the links you need.

I've only just put a chaotic arp/random note synth together. It's called 'Arphur' and will no doubt be developed further if I continue to gain inspiration and knowledge from fellow users as I have over the past week!
You'll find a vst and a standalone in the above folders. However, i've also posted the .SE1 file if anyone wishes to rip it apart and turn it into an egg timer or something .... heres the link....

Hope you're all having as much fun as I am ... :)

Aaargh .... well I WAS havin fun! ... Can anyone tell me why spaces are entered into my links ( rendering them faulty! ) when I post them? Is there a 50 character limit I've not read about? ... all the above have a space thrown in after the 50th character!

Ach b*gg*r it ... just go to www.mediamax.com/tattiemannie ... poke around, and you'll get there!

Post

OOOPS! Just discovered, the standalones dont quite stand alone! They need to have the corresponding vst in the same folder.

Sorry 'bout that! ..... its all there though .... enjoy!

Now I am befuddled (word of the day :P)When I click on the mediamax link I get three folders on the entire page but no synth folder:

-Frantik Zimmer 1989-1993
-Misc tracks
-my vst effex

I use Opera browser....I wonder if that would interfere some how...hmmm

Thanks

Post

Thunderdrums,

Another Opera user here :)

click on the arrow next to FILES then the directory-list will shift. Then click on the *orange* arrow and you will see a list of the synths.

You can also copy/paste the links tattie mentioned in his post above.

Good luck

If you look closely, you'll see that the blank is only part of the displayed text, not the underlying link.

HOWEVER...

If you want to use SAVIHost in your projects (and I have no problem with that, as long as your PlugIns are freeware), please include the complete, unmodified package (except for renaming SAVIHost.exe to the target name, of course), not just the executable.

Cheers Arakula ... I take on board what you say ... on both counts! Thanks, I am assured that the links will work ... cool!

It's kinda late right now, so if you dont mind I'll resolve the Savihost protocol issue as soon as I have time to twiddle my thumbs watching files uploading .... its very much a liberating piece of kit, so I'm not gonna disrespect it by dragging my heels too much .... and if I'm pushed for time, I promise I'll remove the standalones until I have the time to offer them up properly.

Would it be OK to put the Savihost.exe file and the 'readme' file ( renamed readmeFIRST ) file at the top of the folder list? ... would that be enough? At this point in time, I'm not sending out links to anyone outwith this forum and the Synthedit Gathering forum, but very willing to 'sort it out' before I get the urge to post wider.

Thanks again for your response ... Fred.

Oh, definitely.

OK, done! Hope thats alright with everybody ... just heard though, that the file storage hosting site (mediamax) is changing name/ownership ... dunno if I'm happy with that, so I may be moving out ... having only just moved in!!

Hey folks, sorry if I'm bumping this post disproportionately to its general relevance, but I have been playing around with my latest synth "Arphur" .. its got a real 'love it or hate it' aspect to it .. bloody funny old thing it is ( I love it! ). I've used it in place of 'pads' on previously constructed projects ( FL Studio ) and depending on the preset, it either destroys the track completely, or leaves me wondering "shit, why did I not build this daft thing two years ago?" ... Go get it if only because you have a sense of humour ! ... But I think it may be useful when writing/composing and you get 'stuck' ...! ... it'll certainly throw ideas up ... for better or worse!
