What would you do with 5 random models of these Image

& a old PC athlon tower collecting dust?

I did turn the imacs into an ubuntu A/V playing art piece. But that only lasted so long. & the tower is acting as an unused ftp server sucking away at my power bill.

I would like an actual musical task for these to do. I'm not interested in Rebirth. abl2 & adm cover that need 10 fold.

Any ideas? Or is it donate time?

Donate them to a local homeless shelter - load them up with Audacity and teach a short course on recording.

couldn't you use midi and use each computer to host a synth that pumps audio to your master pc? Then you would have more cpu for composing?
..what goes around comes around..

create a vintage music computer running apps that were built between say 1997 and 2001. It could be your muse when you don't have any ideas. :)

smash them into a thousand pieces office space style.

i have an older PC too that I just can't let go, I never used it actually, it was a family members, but it was in great condition last time I checked, just no need for it NOW, but maybe someday...

I ended up butchering my old pc for high voltage wire. The PSU is big enough for a little tube amp head as well, gets some recyling out of it at least. If it still works see if you can donate it to a charity

build aforementioned Vintage DAW with plenty of apps I can't use anymore (but get misty eyed over occasionally) and feed the audio to whatever new computer I have. Actually, I've been thinking about it on and off and I might just do it one of these days!

on the donation tip: load up linux and MAME and then donate them to any kind of human services places: rehab, homeless, women's shelter, at risk youth, whatever

I think i'm going to donate the macs I might keep the best one as an old game emulator. But I'm going to turn the PC into a Standalone Linux Bristol synth & tk707 with my spare audiofile192 card i have laying around.. Looks Like fun check out the screenshots.
