You can get hardware adapters for the ag now. A company in Germany is selling them. I don't know if they work as well as the apps, but for the gear slutz a must

Those have been around for quite awhile. My German isn't very good but I
don't believe they offer as much functionality or flexibility as this

How's the playability of the EZ's?
I do a lot of orchestral writing and was trying to study piano in order to help get MIDI notes in faster. Being a guitarist for 24+ years I'm getting more and more frustrated with my limited keyboard ability (but not liking traditional MIDI guitar) I'm wondering if the EZ-AG could be the best solution.
I'm worried about playability, though. Can you slide between notes? Or is it all on/off button presses that require strict technique?
Do you even NEED to pick (is it all hammer-ons?)?

If you want an EZ that looks like an EG as opposed to an AG,garchev wrote:Did anybody try to put the Yamaha EZ-AG onto a wooden body? Can it fit a fender-type body so that it would look like the EZ-EG?
here's what you need to do......BUY AN EG!!
tho...the AG is all molded plastic. It would take some SERIOUS
cutting and drilling and you'd probably end up with a bunch
of broken junk!! The EG however can be removed from its wooden
body. It is MUCH more suitable for physical mods.

It doesn't have the whammy bar, so I was wondering, if anybody of you guys can tell me whether it's possible to make one or put something as a substitute?
How is the bar attached to the device?

And for those who want to pitch bend, you can use this:CapnLockheed wrote:Those have been around for quite awhile. My German isn't very good but I

Essentially it's just a bent bar of metal with the short vertical end having screw-threads that allow it to be turned clock-wise into the little hole. This is the design of some actual whammy arms, so it might be possible to find a replacement for it at a guitar shop. I guess the big question is what the thread geometry/measurements are: be careful that you don't strip the threads in the hole with the wrong size!garchev wrote:It doesn't have the whammy bar, so I was wondering, if anybody of you guys can tell me whether it's possible to make one or put something as a substitute?

Hey guys,
Do you think these could be used with the EZ?
http://www.tobybear.de/p_mcc.html

MIDI Control Center (MCC) is a useful standalone application that converts the
input of various devices (keyboard, mouse, joystick and programmable oscillators)
to MIDI-events (e.g. controllers or notes).
The following control/input devices are available:
- 16 key faders
- 2 mouse boxes
- 1 joystick field
- 3 LFOs
You can use 4 keys per key fader and for every mouse box you can assign MIDI
events to the X and Y axis, separately for the left and right mouse button.
Every single control can be configured individually:
In the "Settings" dialog you can choose the MIDI channel (1..16, 0=no output), the
MIDI event with LSB/MSB and the minimal/maximal values that define the control
range.
These MIDI messages can be created and sent:
- note on/off
- MIDI CC controller
- program change
- RPN/NRPN
- key pressure
- aftertouch
- pitchbend
It includes a powerful setting morpher that blends all of your options from one setting
to another. This morphing is even automatable by a MIDI CC itself!

Well, it could certainly be used alongside it, but since the EZ already spits out MIDI it's not necessary.
