That's true.
Apart of the unusual 5/8, 7/8, 8/8, 9/8 and 11/8 bars, you can find even stranger measurements like (5+7)/8, (15+14)/8, (9+5)/16 и (9+5)/16.
One of most popular folklore dances (хоро or horo) are in 7/16, 12/16 and so on. Very weird to dance.
Maybe that's the reason why I've never learned at least one of those :-))

Don't sweat it. I have Translator and will certainly give Garth a call if I run into problems. The first step is getting a good set of samples; then we'll look at some loops. Once we have that stuff down, it will be time to talk about spreading it out. So, I appreciate your post. It gives me a gauge. In fact, it should get the man with the pipes excited about puttin' it down. I'm sure he'll be excited about this project all the more. :D
I've got nothing to sell...am I on the right site?

When it comes to loops, I'm going to suggest that the professional player just do what he does best...at least, initially. Many time this inspiration is more powerful than the play/loop acting into a microphone...if ya know what I mean? Then, we can come back and take requests, etc...

Obviously, this is the fun part. :D

But beginning an odd time library with Bulgarian bagpipes might be a bit risky nevertheless

Anyway fine to see some people are looking for something else too.

Yeah, that's kind of why I threw up this thread...to gauge how it might be received; get some ideas that are user-related; generate some excitement for the artist. This should be fun! :D

Necro bump, but I assume this never happened ?

Are there any samples / instruments for the Buglarian bagpipe ?
Don't trust those with words of weakness, they are the most aggressive

I'd humbly suggest that making useable loops (not to speak of a worthwhile VSTi!) requires a deep understanding of the instrument, apart from recording and editing proficiency.
I was just about to say exactly this. And a deep understanding of what's done; the challenge will be to create something where the 'join' from a phrase, from a gesture to the next is conceived out of a compositional sense and cogency.
IE: DON'T do what EWQL did with RA, some nice phrases but cobbling together a part out of them, good luck with that.
