The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Hi Rene,
Nice to see you back as a developer on KvR. I wished I would see you back in a better situation like the release of the Guitar amp sim, and with everyone raving about it.
Unfortunately, I see that you are back instead with what sounds to me like an unfinished alpha product masqueraded as a retail package.
I am not for all that s l a m m ing both you and your product are getting on this thread, but I guess this is the way some KvR members like to operate, sad really...
Rene, what I suggest is that you ask the mods to lock this topic so it doesn't escalate to yet another fiasco, and go back to the DSP/architecture drawing board and see why all these anomalies are being produced. Get a good set of 10 or more beta testers (like you did for the ampsim) that are willing to lend you their ears and knowledge in the domain.
Sometimes you need that impartiality because Rene, you seem to me that your are a bit too much into it at the moment to fully and clearly comprehend the reasons others are complaining about the artifacts produced by Slammer.
When you are sure that the product is "usable" then you can go for a public beta and state it as such, and get yet more feedback from more people, and fine tweak the plug-in...and when you can fine tune no more and the general consensus is positive, you release it.
I don't see any good coming out from this thread, unless the next few releases is a complete 180 from the current one. The only thing this thread is succeeding in doing so far, is to inflict even more damage to the fragile reputation of SoundSpectral and yours, and to advertise that Inerthia compressor plugin.

Sorry, demo removed until the next release.
btw, the clicks are gone WITHOUT losing the flexability,
the reason I left them in, in the 1st place.
(I had no problems dialing them out,
as you can hear with the audio demo)

I think the clicks were harder to avoid when not adding gain after the compressor. I use compressors more for shaping than trying to make things really loud, so possibly I'm not your target market on this.Midiworks wrote:I had no problems dialling them out, as you can hear with the audio demo
About the parameters, any way to get them to show in a host for MIDI assignment/automation?

So, the demo is gone, the clicks are gone, but you left them in to be flexible, and we can hear the demo that is gone because it was easy to dial it out?Midiworks wrote:Sorry, demo removed until the next release.

Those had never been removed, just buried in the posts here.Midiworks wrote: http://hotsearch.us//downloads/vs_Slammer_vs.wav

One of the 2 processed drums is S l a m m e r the other a highly regarded
expensive plug-in.
S l a m m e r was never created to win loudness wars.I think the clicks were harder to avoid when not adding gain after the compressor. I use compressors more for shaping than trying to make things really loud, so possibly I'm not your target market on this.
About the parameters, any way to get them to show in a host for MIDI assignment/automation?
But as a creative tool, exactly to do this,
'shaping rather than trying to make things really loud'.
Sure I can re-activate automation.
(took actually sometime to de-activate it)
No problem, next version.
