8 instances of Zebra (plus a bounced track from the cymal preset)

tweaked internal reverb and delay in most presets, a little internal EQ here and there and some enveloppe parameters, but well within the rules, I think.

I added a compressor / limiter on mix (Dominion), I hope that's alright.

Seems ok to me and good work :)

I particular like the stacked sound you come up with by stacking the piano and something else, seems to be a nice combination.

Now since you say you did some internal EQing, which monitors did you use ?

I use Yamaha HS 50M for monitor. I think that we will see that all mixes could benefit from a slight boost in the highs, to give an air and space definition.

TBH I've done it by going back and forth between my PC speakers and my cheap headphones, which I know well. In my "proper" home studio, I have Event Tr6, on which I can (should) check the mix when I get the time.

I boosted the highs and mids on the piano, and the lows on the kick. I could add some mids and highs to the clap perhaps, even on the HH and the lead, to add some brightness. Does it sound it bit dull?

I stacked the piano with the "Poly-Digital" preset.

I'll think of other ways to add brightness.

Yup, just a tad dull but its nothing to worry about. I know the frequency are there and its just a matter of doing an overall EQ, but we are not allowed heh heh. Sure you could add some top to the hihat and clap, perhaps a tad more body to the kick so it gives the stomach punch. But really, this is not about how perfect it can be. What interest me the most is the combination of sounds you use for a your arrangement style.

Btw. wish i had a singing voice like yours :)

OK revised version... "internal" highs and mids boosted here and there. Mixdown boosted with Kjaerhus classic limiter. Did some panning too.

Maybe a tad heavy on the hi hats highs?

Can you guys identify the time sig? :ud:

If i know the KVR people right i dont think we will be flooded anytime soon ;)

The real competition starts when we have more than 3 participants, if we dont get more then your on the safe side for a copy of the soundset ;)

Thanks.

Yup. Well 7/4 according to eXT 1.4 but that's the same (to me).

Here's one that shows the oldskool trance side of your patches.
It's called, Don't Cry Girlfriend.

Hi Electrobop :)

Very nice melodic theme, i have 2 suggestions if you feel like experimenting a bit more: 1. Try to add some pumping limiter 2. Take the release down to 15 on some of the arpeggios because the notes are overlapping in some places.

I imported your track into cubase and added a somewhat more pumping limiter to the track. Give it a listen so you get a feel for what i mean by the pump effect.
