f**k all this picking nonsense. What does it sound like on proper strummed geetar?

I don't think so - the hiss is very high - I think some frequencies get attenuated in the process which are not needed.Hink wrote: imo part of the tone for an acoustic will be in the same frequency range as the hiss.

try a de-esser instead (frequency selective compression)...Hink wrote:when I eq'ed out the hiss it sounded rather dull (but of course that's not right after the input)

please read where I used the hiss remover in AA as well, which is quite good and I think even better than a de-essor.jens wrote:try a de-esser instead (frequency selective compression)...Hink wrote:when I eq'ed out the hiss it sounded rather dull (but of course that's not right after the input)

(bridge HB only, recorded with DI or hi-z)
A real world test, poorly nastily played mostly downward strumming from a real song with comped bits at diferrent volumes. I am intrigued.

Here some strumming, played by a friend
with an acoustic guitar in mind.

Here the only short part from donkey tugger
that worked less than more... sorry

It is very important to remember that an electric
usualy has lower and lighter strings than an acoustic guitar.
So some can not play that heavy way with a good result.
Once you play through the VST you adjust your playing
automaticaly, playing dry is just not easy to do.
We can try again donkey tugger
with an acoustic guitar in mind.

I could provide you with some strumming played with an electric with really heavy strings - it's single coil though...Midiworks wrote:

no thanx, that's the sample with hiss and tbh I don't need to spend the extra time getting rid of the hiss. The bottom line is a pluggin that makes an electric sound like an acoustic would be cool, but if I want to spend the time I'm comfortable that I can do quite well with the tools I have. Again I only spent about 10 minutes on that sampleMidiworks wrote:Try with the 1st demo on page 1
