Now that I finally have ST 2.5 on my iMac (hooray for the Rare & Vintage Group Buy!), I've been loading all my old SampleTank stuff onto the machine. I've got OmniSynth and I downloaded the presets file, but I'm not sure which folder to put them in. The sounds from Omnisynth has "OmniSynth Alt," "PRO GM ECO1," and "PRO GM set" folders in it, but unlike the Acoustic Collection or Symphony Strings, the presets aren't divided into proper folders. Any help?
Thanks,
Dave

I'm on my pc at the moment but when I get home (if I can get some Mac time in) I'll take a look at what I did for all my ST2 capable stuff....

On a Windows machine (I imagine you could do the same with a Mac)...
I have a folder C:\samples\sti that has some subdirs:
...\sampletank instruments (ST2XL)
...\miroslav philharmonik
...\sonik synth 2
...\omnisynth
...\piano collection
etc
Then I point Sampletank at this directory and have it re-list everything once. [edit] I have preset folders under each of the major instrument folders (ST2XL, Philharmonik, SS2, etc) but for Piano Collection etc they're in the folder. For Omnisynth I have them in the "Pro GM Set" folder.

Thanks for the help Doug, but I think I may have been unclear. I know where the sounds are (sti, stw, sth), but I have a folder of presets (stip) that were downloadable separately. I know the presets get put in the folders with the sounds, but for the Guitar Collection the presets were in separate folders for acoustic and electric, so I knew where to put them. The Omnisynth presets are all in a single folder, but the sounds of Omnisynth come divided into 3 folders - OmniSynth Alt, PRO GM ECO1, and PRO GM set. To be honest, I never used Omnisynth when I had it on my PC, but I figured I might as well load everything and then pare down what I don't need.dougsyo wrote:On a Windows machine (I imagine you could do the same with a Mac)...

I think I wasn't clear.
.ikmp presets (combis) are in the program files\ik multimedia\sampletank\presets folder.
.stip (child) presets go in with the .stw/.sth files they go with.
In the case of Omnisynth, I put the .stip files in the Omnisynth\Pro GM set folder.

Where can you find these presets? I'd be interested in getting a set if they weren't included in the Sonic Synth Group Buy version of the Omnisynth Expansion Tank.SometimesNothing wrote: I know where the sounds are (sti, stw, sth), but I have a folder of presets (stip) that were downloadable separately.

All clear now? By the way, OmniSoundz 2 is right around the corner...
