Shy wrote:Har.. Anyway, I'm sure that's not what he meant with his post, and most points are true, it's not necessary to use a complex sidechain setup like this for most things, and most times the result would be undesirable. But it has its place, and it can be used with good results for "normal" stuff as well as, and especially "creative" stuff.
He-he :hihi: What a troll I am :troll:

Never mind me, I just happen to be an old fellow from the 80s, a time in which there were no such things as even a free jack-caple. Can help feeling grateful for any free stuff, especially when made by request like this one. Could be a pile of crap and I would still think the same and even admire the courage to publish it.

About the necessity thing, well old as I am, I have not used much features invented since 1995, so you can count me in, but I am not that clairvoyant to say anything about what other people need or not or what might be right or wrong in terms of creativity, so I will leave that to you if you like...this just may not be the right place to discuss it..deal is already done and the beast is here, thanks to Vieris. If its requested, then somebody out there probably gonna love it...good work! :hail:

OK, thanks for leaving it to me. I'll leave it to you to make no point whatsoever.

Wow what to say. I'm impressed that a processor can cause so much drama.

That is what it is intended for.
This multiband wont replace my goto tool the URS CSP for most usual mixing tasks.
But it is now my goto for those multiband, "creative", or "problem" tasks that pop up.
(Listen to my music if you question how much use it will see.)

1/2 of my drive is provoked from my dislike with being tied down to anything. During my work day i have a plethora of tools.
If i can do it with this Image

I want to be able to do the same at home with this

If your not into multiband processing, get upset easily, or have a hatred for my sharing of tools thats fine with me. I'll be sitting here cranking away on my music/tools. Coming up with more stuff as the need arises.

Update:
Just added a stereo channel Link/Unlink (CH-Link) like in my single bands comps for each band. You can use this for stereo image processing & other funky things.

How it works -
When checked - both Left&Right are compressed evenly based on the overall peaks in the signal.
When unchecked - Left&Right are processed individually. (Example: say you have a kick&snare panned hard left/right & you don't want the kick peaks on the left to change the snare on the right. #2 if you have a cranked hard left panned guitar solo that you want to compress without bringing down the volume of the right channel.

Besides from the point that you are on the wrong thread and probably too young and naive to get any fine message, even presented at a silverplate! :idiot:

I agree with Kritikon that sidechaining and multiband compression has reached near-mythical status in the DAW world, and it's gone from a rare creative trick to get out of tough spots to "mix-saving" glory; but that being said, I think it's great to have something like this that takes advantage of the lack of limitations in software. I'll probably never need a sidechaining mutliband compressor, but it's great that it can be done, someone might find a creative use for it, and veiris is giving it to us gratis.

a MBcomp with sc per band? Are you shitting me? If this does what you say it does then its worth the $..

No insult to Vieris...good of him to make one and all that; but as he said - here's one - pretty well just because it was asked for.
It's one of those things that is only there because someone with no common sense thinks there ought to be one. I remember the thread about multiband comps with sidechains. It's complete overkill and unnecessary. Very soon the KvR webmyth will develop that multibands with individual sidechains are what pros use to make that something special. Whereas in truth, even widebands are rarely used with the sidechains. Sidechains aren't that useful. A good mix negates the need for one most times. Yeah, yeah...people will chip in with how useful it is to sidechain the bass with the kick - it's exactly places like KvR that brought into existence the notion that that technique is at all necessary. Once upon a time you just mixed your bass and kick properly and thumping and pumping tracks were made all the time without them. I can just hear in my head all the music that'll be put out soon with sidechained multibands...you thought RMSs of -8dBFS were too loud? Ain't heard nuthin' yet. We'll have square wave tunes with all individual bands square waved. Then we'll need 8 bands, then that won't be enough and we'll need 1024 band FFT based sooperdooper megamultibands with a sidechain on every single channel, that can be crosschained to every other channel.

Y'know...we're heading closer and closer to white noise being called music. :hihi:

you are a bit narrow-minded here - a sidechain can not only be used for ducking but also for modifying the control-signal with filters, distortion, etc. ;-)

You're right, your sarcastic remarks and below the radar attacks are a fine point that I have failed to appreciate until now. But now that you have switched from indirect to direct idiotic remarks, I appreciate you more, Idiot. (I don't need an icon for the word)
