Group Buy vs Sonik Synth?

Hey guys---a little advice?
I managed to click into the Rare and Vintage Group Buy, which looks like a monster pile of sounds. As it happens, however, before I knew about the group buy, I had also placed an order for Sonik Synth at a store that is very good for prices (but not so much on delivery). Sonik Synth has been backordered since my purchase.
My question is, did the Group Buy make Sonik Synth redundant? Are they the same or nearly the same samples? That being the case, should I just cancel Sonik Synth at this point?
Thanks for all thoughts.

I wouldn't cancel SS2. It's a powerhouse soundset. You can get another IK plug if you can get it registered by the end of May, and the sounds from SS2 are really nice to have.
Squids said this in regard to SS2 and this GB.

They should compliment each other nicely, and you can put both soundsets in your Sampletank instruments folder, to have a library of sounds to run seemlessly in ST 2.5 engine. Some things from Sonik Synth 2 come from these vintage sessions. Very little actual overlap though. It's basically MORE of where that came from kind of thing. You might have say one or two organ sounds in SS2 from a session that had 10-15. So now you get the other 12 you didn't have before etc. Things like that. The larger versions, the other sounds and of course a LOT of instruments that weren't even represented at all in SS2 that you'll finally have. In short, this is different! It's like a SUPER Expansion Tank for Vintage plus one for grooves and two for rare instruments (sort of a hybrid of world and vintage on those). All together it is one monster collection! We might even make this exclusive to this group buy and not even available at ALL afterward. Not sure yet on that but just in case I'd join! (Squids sales pressure... haha jk).

At this point, I have all the potential free plug-ins. IK really has my number!harmony gardens wrote:I wouldn't cancel SS2. It's a powerhouse soundset. You can get another IK plug if you can get it registered by the and of May, and the sounds from SS2 are really nice to have.
Thanks for the advice on Sonik Synth, though.

Not the same stuff so if you like these kinds of sounds then both are a great combo!

Find someone that will buy your extra effect. Right now I'm at a toss-up between CSR and T-Racks and really don't know which I'll get.KeithAdv wrote:At this point, I have all the potential free plug-ins.
