Squids or whomeever,
I am in need of island drums or steel drums.
I have Sampletank XL, Sonik Synth, Miroslav and the newest vintage group buy. Is there an island type drumkit amongst them? If not, can I buy one from the download site at esoundz?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

There is at least one steel drum in sonik synth 2, with a number of variations/child presets. Though as it's more a dedicated area of instrument (african/polynesian?) I guess it's best looking into more dedicated ethnic sound packs. I did find this old thread on the subject of steel drums though:

Thanks.
I'll look in SS for the steel drum - we just need one authentic sounding sampleset to create an island/cruise type sound to a song we're finishing up.
Any idea of the name or combi for that steel drum in sonik synth? The naming convention of sampletank is cute, but hard to search for in real-world terms.

harmony,
Thanks. I finally found it - I just realized that the noisy effect was caused by the lo-fi and phono effects. I seasoned it to taste. Quite a good set of samples indeed.
