Actually, I A/B'd this plugin with the hardware equivalent, and it's in no way a replacement for the thing itself. Just another instance of someone thinking software would replace hardware!
It *is* cheaper than the hardware version, though.
The UI sucks as well.

only irish wolfhounds are 2.0. The others don't have the bandwidth to transfer at that kinda rate. and you do need a dubbing cable because normally both ends are female.amiga909 wrote:great advice, I'll try when I am home.Chopper wrote:can't you plug your dog straight into the usb port?
considering the age of my dog I doubt he is usb2.0..maybe I have to buy an animal that is usb2.0 and can eat the dog, so I can translate from usb1.0..

maybe if you feed it enough chili you could get a smaller dog to output at a higher rate.Sepheritoh wrote:Damn. That sucks.rifftrax wrote:

I've not posted here for months, I've not read any of the replies, I've barely read the original post but I can categorically state that this is but a pale shadow of the hardware.

Typical hardware snobs, coming in here and trying to slag off This Amazing Plug-In....
1. I doubt that any of you have actually heard That Amazing Rack, since, according to Paul White's article in Sound on Sound, fewer than a dozen of them were ever constructed, for such people as Tom Dowd, Sir George Martin, David Gilmour, and Peter Gabriel, due to the horrendous expense of acquiring five pounds of radioactive cobalt for the magnetic core of each one. The import restrictions placed on blood diamonds mean that no more will ever be made, either.
I think you people are likely basing your opinions about the rack version on the cheesy MP3s that can be downloaded via LimeWire. Those have been over-compressed and had so much reverb applied that I'm amazed anyone can stand to listen to them.
2. Regardless of any virtues of the hardware, it's also obvious that you haven't turned on the 4096X oversampling that's available when you're running a dual quad-core rig with a sled-team of Alaskan Huskies plugged in, as I am.
The hardware, which I did hear when recording with Prince last year, sounds like farts in a bathtub in comparison.
So there. As Bill the Cat would say -- Thhhbbbtt!

I'll have you know that I once saw a picture of the hardware in an old copy of SoS, so don't tell me that I don't know the difference! Granted I didn't actually read the article, but had I done so it would have described how it sounded and I can tell you the emulation sounds nothing like it.
oh wait. I'm thinking of something else, probably a something called a "meenimouge". Sorry.
