ok ok ....devils advocate time
Dream theatre as a band deserve no defense ......... they are beyond the pale of prog Onanism .
but i did once witness jorden play Rach's Piano Concerto 3 and i gotta say ........ at the very least he is EXTREMELY talented.

in defence of 'wankery': i really like that kind of music. out of all the forms of music ive played (on whichever insturment i played it on), its the most satisfying from a musician perspective. From a listiner perspective, nothing else makes my musical jaw drop as much, or leaves me with a better 'eargasm'or sense of wonder. and i'm a fan of dream theater, liquid tension, and the dixie dregs (all had rudess in them). BUT...that ad is simply ripe to be picked on. keith emerson stabbing his organ on stage (no, no, dumkoff, not THAT organ...the other kind with keys) was one thing, but that pic...well, it speaks for itself.
i think i might even miss it when they stop the ad campagin...its almost like a part of KVR now.

He's a great player. You'd have to be insane to think differently, watching those Receptor vids; but that stare! With the "come hither", Darth-Vader grasp..looking at it for months...Jesus.

after reading this comment i will agree with the masses and insist, no, DEMAND, that this ad/pic be removed IMMEDIATELY to prevent any further insinuated visions of grappled testicles and come hither looks everytime i see his ridiculous pose.riley4reason wrote:Hi, This is Jordan Rudess..If someone would just put thier balls in my hand I will leave...

I don't think that's really been questioned.bduffy wrote:He's a great player. You'd have to be insane to think differently...
Then again, Liberace was a great player, too.

That didn't make his music or performance less distasteful.
