Started off a bit beat weird because i didnt expect 3/4 although you did write it ;) Good theme and very nice play with the lead. The mix could use some EQ'ing but besides that its all good to me :) Good job.

Updated submissions from me:

1) Different

This is the same submitted before, but with a warmer and louder (more compressed, less dynamic) mix and a little less bass.

Nothing has been changed in tracks and song structure so choose whatever you like more between this one and the previous version, they're both available.

2) Anger

Do not remember exactly how many Zebra instances, sure less than 12 :).
I have decreased the number of steps of the arpeggiator in one preset ("Donna summer" rhythm bass triggering almost from the start) from 3 to 2, hope it is allowed.

Some presets have been softly tweaked in the internal EQ, other changes are described in the previous post for "Different" (I have used mostly the same sounds, though arranged differently of course)

Hope you enjoy. BTW, these presets are terrific, instant music!!!

Cheers,
Mario

@To all

Once we got all submissions and we are past the deadline i will sit down and listen carefully again, take notes and comment on each track provided.

Should someone submit a track between now and the deadline then i will still comment on the arrangement if i think it could be better in some way.

?? It's 4/4 with triplets. Reminds me of Oxygene.

You are right Howard ... it's a 4/4 with triplets, or a 12/8 (which, according to some theories, is derived from 4/4), the same of JMJ's Oxygene.

I will rearrange the initial post to a more friendly view for voting and my comments when we hit the deadline.

To me music is one of the following: 3/4 or 4/4 or swing or plain odd. Everything in between is just numbers :)

Indeed, I'm not Subz under disguise ;)

@Urs: it's your incredible virtual instrument and Michael presets that allow doing very interesting things in short time.

I never managed to get that trance sound using tons of FX and plugins, and now I think I never got so near, using "only" Zebra2 and the Demo presets... maybe this contest should teach something - it's doing it to me at least: we should really limit our gear choice and devote more time and efforts to musical ideas and experimentation over tools scouting.

I agree with you Mario: maybe it's better to have (and know how to use) a little range of instruments / plugins, than an "arsenal", which sometimes is only confusing and dispersive. Some years ago, I used to make my songs using only my Roland U20 and an Amiga-500 with Music-X... then I had a long pause of "nothing" (about 12 years), and when I restarted to compose (last year), everything had changed!
Maybe this contest made me go back to a more comfortable dimension: "do more with less"!!!

Thanx for your feedback and your advice about Eq'ing.
