My next plugin for yall is something that we've seen before, but that time we saw a limited way to do this. What I chat about? Field recordings. Tweakbench released Field, and it is a darn nice plugin to play with, but it is way too limited in it's aproach. So let me introduce you to JBM Ambium:

Image

It has 12 onboard sampleslots which can be pitched, and looped individually. You can play both forward and backward if you want to. It comes with a filter that you can use to give each sound it's own characteristics. Topping it off each channel has a DubBuddy delay.

It comes with no samples at all, so you have to load your own samples. Have fun!

im gonna try this out tonight in my renoise

Ah I allmost forgotten: It will not respond to MIDI, all samples are played on the fly just as TB Field play it's samples.

No midi control ?
You can't always get what you waaaant...

Post

No MIDI control as how to play the samples. Think about it as 12 taperecorders with looped tapes in each. I wanted it to be as simple and efficient as possible. MIDI CC's will be added as well as proper automation of all parameters. This is an early version, some stuff isn't fully developed now. But it's fully working.

It's a very good idea, Tweakbench plugin is cool too but to ad the option to load your own wavs is very nice. I'm curious on how it will receive & process big wav files (100megs & +). Thanks!

I builded a special version with 190 MB wavefiles onboard. It loads within a few seconds.

will the special version be up for dl??

Post

Sure but I gotta split it up into several 10 MB sized parts. Cannot host files larger than that. I hope that's ok with everyone here.

Note you need all files to unpack my special build of Ambium. Cat owners should be warned, your cat may react negative towards this version. One of the sounds are 2 cats having a fight over some food or something similar. The original file is 5 minutes long, so I cut it down to 1.5 minutes. Other sounds includes builders, a rush hour trafic jam with car horns, There are more sounds that I'll let you discover on your own. Have fun!

Two things:

First, loading JBM Ambium.dll in my host, I get a message "DH_BoolSwitch1toMany module - unregistered copy - the above named module has been used in a product without being registered, in violation of the licensing agreement and copyright laws...blah,blah,blah"

Second, I get no sound (maybe related to the first issue?)

Thanks yeah I know that bug, working on it. Used a DH module without properly registering the module.
