Dimi's collective works that he as posted for free here at KVR over the last couple years run circles around Satch's same-old-same-old songs. I think I stated this back a page or two ago.
And where's the free Satch tunes?
And Shane, how excellent you use a Venn diagram analogy! Right on. But Dimi's composition circle is way bigger than Satch's.
Did you guys here Dimi's Saz (sp?) song recently posted? Now there's a tone you never heard from Vai or Satch.
I think y'all are jealous that are picking his song apart here.

I think Dimi would agree with me when I say that Satriani's composition skills are great (for guitar... the drums DO in fact suck when he programs them on MIDI) and he's a rare talent. I don't know why anyone would need to pick apart Satch just to big-up Dimi.
Dimi's kick ass without any comparisons whatsoever.

Name one other guitarist that posts here at KVR where folks pick apart his playing like what has happened in this thread.
I've never seen it before on Dimitar's posts over the past 3 or 4 years, and it seems like people are jumping on a bandwagon here which seems unnecessary.
BTW, it's not that I don't like Satch - even went to G3 '03, but I'd rather listen to Dimi's stuff than my Satch collection any day.

You have fans my man. The more fans you get the more stuff like this is going to happen. You'll have to learn to ignore a lot of it and just keep playing. Don't worry about it and don't worry too much about what people (especially me) say or think about your playing ether. Even though I think you went to school on Joe and Stevie, I still think you play your ass off.dimitar wrote:WowFriends, please don't fight!!! It is all about enjoyment of making and playing music...

Great track dimitar. Even more amazing that it's a one-take recording. If my playing ever comes anywhere near yours, I'd let people call my style boring anytime.
Cheers.

Damn dude, some really quality work in this tune, reminds me of growing up listening to Joe Satriani's "Surfing With The Alien".
Keep up the good work, I'd love to hear more of this kind of stuff, it energizes my soul.

Hi Dimitar!...
Well, I used to visit this forum just to hear good songs worked with VST guitar plugins... and now I registered to be able to ask things...
I like a lot the way you play... a lot of feeling, and great technique... the music you do is really awesome...
Ok... I wanted to ask you how do you process the guitar to get that perfect final sound... After the use of Reavalver mk III and the JSX, what Equalization, compression, or some VST plug in do you use to get a better sound than the original sound of Revalver?
Any notable difference in the processing between the solo guitars and the rhytmic guitars?...
That's all... great work!, and greetings from Chile!...

First I look at the things that are more important when I start to build the song. The solo or the rhythm. Then I analyze the sound and start from that impression.
Solo guitar:
Most of the time i cut a lot from the low end on the solo guitar track and maybe add a little around 7-8 kHz.
Some times cut around 3-4 kHz.
Also I don't compress the solo guitar. I play with hi-gain and it is already compressed.
Rhythm guitars
I record two rhythm guitar tracks and send them in a group. The some very soft compression and maybe a EQ.
I use this rule. If my main solo is more in the middle range I cut the rhythm guitars around 500 Hz or around there.
If my solo is scooped with a lot of highs I use round and full - middle range sounding rhythm guitars to fill the spectrum.
