Nice :) Quick question Shy - I know blue has curves modeled on a bunch of different analogue designs, but sound-wise is it a very clean/transparent EQ or is it more of a coloured/vibey one? Always wondered...
Some of the EQ types (Classic Sym, Proportional 1/2/3, Const-Q Ideal) are really not coloring but each has unique sound and uses. Const-Q Asym and Asy R can be pretty clean in some situations and pretty coloring too, and can do amazing things especially on high frequencies. Parallel FF-FB is quite coloring and excellent sounding in any situation. Great on everything, but most immediately noticeably on bass. Parallel LC Asy is the most coloring type and the most amazing EQ I've ever heard in the digital domain. It livens up things in every frequency region, and it has an ability to fix some things I've tried to fix for ages but was never able to and never really believed could ever be fixed that well.
Oh man, I'm still hating you, Shy... :smack: :P

I'm currently talking directly with an Algorithmix developer (because their installer system sucks ass and I can't authorize the demo), and I think I'll ask him if he can reset my PEQ demo period, as a gesture of good faith to assuage my suffering. I have to hear this EQ again!

This should be productive

Beat me to it.

I meant Image-Line's Parametric EQ 2 that comes with FL Studio 8 (the one from FL 7 doesn't have the super sharp filter curves).

No need to hate ;) (I know you're kidding), I'm far from wealthy and what I paid for it was actually most of my monthly wage. I just figured that instead of wasting money on several mediocre EQs (or worse, "enhancers" that ruin the sound), it's worth it to make an investment instead, on one EQ plugin that does far more than anything else. And it's one of those extremely few things that I figured I really couldn't live without (the other being Cubase) and got although it requires a dongle.
As for Algorithmix support/customer (and potential customer) care, I've been extremely satisfied. Very nice people.

P.S. I'll join in to the off-topic hardware bragging: I have a Behringer B-1!

Oh man, the guy I'm talking to (Petar) is very, very nice, and was quite concerned that I couldn't install the demo, provided a solution and a further explanation why they have the rather convoluted installation routine. Fast and attentive. Nice.

I see your point about choosing that one EQ. I had totally forgotten that PEQ Blue does many different types of EQ, not just one sweet one; that should be factored into the pricing too. When my house sale goes through, it will be first on my list.

OK, so seriously: I have a nice little Behringer Eurorack UB1002! Eat my noisy pres! :D

I won't lie to you, even though I can get away with it because it's the internet. I've never owned a PSS. :(

However, I will always cherish the half hour or so I once got to spend playing on one at Costco. :D

That's a good idea. I'll try it too, but I think I'll ask him if there's any way he can set the demo period to 150 years. :)
