Just a jam I pounded out in about two hours using Kore and Zebra in Ableton Live and some of the new features in the latest Numerology beta to trigger a Drum Rack or two.

Very cool - excellent spacey sounds and a great little bubbly glitchy rhythm riding underneath. Must get back to Numerology - I was having some trouble with the beta that seems to be setup specific, but Jim's found me a work around for now.

Well, I'm not a huge fan of glitch as a genre, but I definitely enjoyed a lot of the soudscapes you were creating. Reminded me a little of Autechre's most recent album, which I imagine is a good thing.

I'm glad it was long enough to create it's own space. what a beautiful space indeed! lovely percolation and springverbery textures. Love the way you "move the floor" while the listener is "walking" toward the end of the piece

(little things = big effect ...I find that I forget this axiom sometimes!

"lack of keyboard skill" for one person is a completely fresh perspective to another person, if ya get my meaning

stated differently:
While I would never discourage a person from pursuing training or lessons, the alternative (upside

) is that your "lack of keyboard skills" simply means that you are not predisposed to certain types of playing or musical thinking

Good lookin track, J. I love the keyboard sounds a lot actually. I also especially appreciate this in the scope of someone pulling it off in a couple of hours. Jeez. Fantastic motion in your feedback sounds and the drums are very tangible and artistic at the same time. Your keyboard work sounds more than fine to me. Nice work. Nother keeper.

Thanks Jazzy and CKat... getting the bass and the keys to sit right was a bitch, I'm running them both through an old crate bass amp that I mic'd up with a 421 and panw shop condensor with no lable (kinda looks like a CAD). The feedback came from the RE-201 model in Guitar Rig 3, I'd never really played with Guitar Rig though I've had it for a while... when did they put these MDF things in there?! Genius!

great little tune, love the delayed organ-y sounds a lot

i also think the tune is helped *a lot* by your lack of skillz0rz on the keyboards. there are some fantastic harmonies that crop up almost by accident in your tunes, just by you using your ear, that would take an age to "learn" to do. and in the meantime we'd have 3am tunes with trite little melodies and neat chord progressions

only kidding, beautiful piece of music though, sounds like you've found the gear/system/inspiration that works for you if you can knock this out in 2 hours.

It was the new gear aquisition which dragged his outa me so quickly. Generally it takes that long to just set up for a jam... if any hardware synths are involved, it could take longer.

Having no training drives me hard to teach myself, which is all I need I guess

What makes things difficult is the fact that I don't "hear" music. That is I don't have tunes in my head that I need to get out. I pretty much have to hit keys until something happens that resonates, luckily I've learned to remember and recycle my happy accidents
