Olga v1.01.00 is released:

- Patch/bank save and load vastly improved.
- Active patch name saved with the plugin state.
- Bug fix for multiple plugin instances in Ableton Live.
- Duo voice mode improvements.
- Revamped chorus effect, with much smoother response.
- Revamped distortion circuit, for a bit more growl.

Also at http://www.stillwellaudio.com/?page_id=37 is an OSX AU public beta version. Please report any AU bugs or other feedback here: http://www.stillwellaudio.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=36

Enjoy!

yay, this is wonderful! the preset issue was my *only* problem with this beautiful synth, and even that didn't stop me!
thank you!

Yes, version 1.01.00 is really a giant step forward. No new problems so far.

Thanks again for that. :D

I hope that some more people start using Olga since it's working close to perfect now. Looking forward to some new soundbanks or patches from other users.

My first 12 patches are published at the Olga forum on the Scwa homepage. The first ten also here at KVR.

Did i already mention that i wrote a review at KVR. Today I updated it today to the new version 1.01.00.

The perspective is not great.

I would propose to re-render the GUI:

Panel perfectly in top down view

and

the virtual *keyboard" being in perspective instead of the panel.
That would give it a nice realistic touch visually.

The sound and the look are absolutely gorgeous, I have a crowd of my coworkers with jaws agape at the sound of this thing. The filter at high resonance is absolutely brutal! Thanks :)

I'm sorry you think that; its 100% rendered in full 3D from the same camera with no later comping, so everything is in perspective including the keyboard. Try pressing some keys; we're very proud of that. So... whatever you're seeing is an optical illusion, which of course makes it no less valid an observation, but I'm at a loss as to why. Looks right to me!

First impression =

I love broken sounds and this definitely delivers. Some real personality under the hood. No problems yet under OSX 10.5.2, Intel Mac, Live 7.0.3.

Gonna play some more...

I though you actually might like it... I dunno, I downloaded your sample pack recently (mate, inspirational, BTW), and even if it's quit different, I was thinking that they had a similar goal....
It's not what you use, it's how you use it...

Hey, thanks!

I'm having so much fun with this thing! Especially in Duo mode. I'm generally a whore for modulation options but due to the design of the signal and control paths of this synth I don't find myself missing much. This thing is very well thought out :) as soon as I get paid next week, you've got my $80!

Hi KVR,

We've worked out a bunch of compatibility issues and we're hopeful that the current Olga AU build at http://www.stillwellaudio.com/?page_id=37 will work on all combinations of processor, OS version, and host.

Also, there's a Windows update to v1.01.01 which should be better at saving Olga's state with projects.

(I won't bump this thread with every bugfix, but the OSX compatibility was a big one, previously it wasn't working on PPC machines.)

Nevermind, email client is a jerk.

this thing has the meanest sound of any synth i've heard. i actually like the russian, its helpful in a way.

im very interested in seeing the other plugins becoming mac compatible..

you don't even need oscillators on this, just turn them both all the way down and turn the resonance all the way up, play with the filter and amp envelopes and lfo, goto town.

ANyone had any luck getting this to work on the Receptor yet?
I've dropped the DLL into unsupported\olga, and when I try to install either from the GUI or from the front panel, the Receptor reboots, drops a .failed in the Olga dir, but nothing specific in the reports folder txt files..
Don't Tech No for an Answer

schwa, i really like olga, but generally i use only synths that accept aftertouch (channel aftertouch, or much better: polyphonic aftertouch) as a modulation source. when playing live, this frees up one hand for playing rhodes or whatever...

any chance of implementing channel or even polyphonic aftertouch?

thanks
