I haven't tried the opto yet, I'll have to run it tomorrow and see how it does.

Been using feedforward compressor and 5-band eq a lot, eq is gold on bass guitar because I can boost the mids and it takes focus away from the low end, leaving the bass drum hits to shine thru.
