Beziers will never generate a perfect circle, nor a perfect sinewave... part of their design. You'd need an infinite number of coefficients, which might be beyond the scope of this project!

Cool knob btw ;)

ouroboros wrote:wow, your knobs all look excellent. If I might ask a favor: would people be willing to post some knobman files (*.knob) so that I can learn from them?
I can make some decent 2d stuff, but I start to lose the picture for photorealistic stuff. Thanks.
My free "retro knob collection 0.9" ist still online:
bootsy.cr68.com/misc/Bootsies_Retro_Knob_Collection_0.91.rar

My newer designs are not yet in there but still some fancy stuff to look at and learn ...

Great Brok !

So what are you going to do with these ?
Into GUI design and/or plugin development perhaps ?

I know you already master the art of sounddesign. :)

well, i'm basically trying to learn a bit of gui graphics,
just to know it. if i ever find the time to do something
with se/sm, i don't want to be restricted by a gui i don't like ...
so it' s basically just learnig purposes ...

gotta give that back in the opposite way:
you're the master of gui design!
i absolutely _love_ your guis, especially daedalus ...
you got a real wizzard-hand for colours ...
basically that gui was the trigger for me to firstly try around ...

Is there the directory 'Texture' under the .exe file? and .bmp files exist in that dir? (included in original .zip)

another question: When I render the knobs with a specualr element, the light direction does not stay constant in the rendered knob. Rotating the knob rotates the highlighted side as well. Is there a way around this I am missing? thanks.

Pls use 'Gradation' option in the Lighing group instead. Basically, the effects by the primitive's options (texture, specular, emboss...) are rotated by 'Angle'. the 'Lighiting' group's effects are processed after rotate.
