Can Someone explain expansion tank

I know this is old technology but when you buy an expansion tank module do you need to own Sample Tank or will the LE version play this module. Also does anyone own the Mellow Tron expansion tank, is it any good?

Mellow Zone is a nice set, but doesn't offer the variety of the SampleTron or Squids Tron Collection, of course. Still, if you want some Trons, or are a Tron junky, this is a solid buy, especially at the blow out prices I've been seeing around.

The expansion tanks will all run in either ST full or LE. If you have either of those, you can run the sounds. Like glokraw says, if you don't have one of those, check to see if LE is included.

I don't think ST LE is supported in Vista, so beware of that, unless you're running XP. If you have Vista, ST 2.5 is the only way to run these sounds AKAIK.

I think it's a matter of time. I bought one about a year ago and it came with SampleTank LE. I bought the same one (first one was for someone else) a few months ago and it didn't. SampleTank LE is (IIRC) discontinued, so newer expansion tanks won't have it. At least, that's how it seems. Mind you, if you already have SampleTank LE, everything should work fine.

Thanks for the info, I believe that LE comes with it. If not is LE available as a download somewhere. If not I'm out 20 bucks. Seems like a good risk. I hope the collection is good.

I have MelloZone and like it a lot. It doesn't seem to be as good as the Trons that esoundz/Squids have come up with but still a valuable set to have in the arsenal.
