Can someone explain the differences between the 2D and MultiD Instruments in this Sonic Capsule?

Also, on the UFO selector for SampleTank format there are 4 choices:
  • 2D GM Kits
  • 2D iMap kits
  • MultiD GM Separate Drums
  • MultiD iMap Separate Drums
But after extraction (in Kontakt format), on my disk I also have folders for:
  • MultiD GM Kits
  • MultiD iMap kits
Where did they come from? Can I get those 2 Instrument sets in ST2 format?

Hi Dark Star,

Afaik, you can use the UFO engine to install the libs in more than one format (I asked quite the same question long ago)(though this will obviously duplicate the samples on your HD)

This said I just installed them for Battery 3 so .... I now have 6 folders : 2 Dyn GM Kits, 2 Dyn Imap Kits, MultiD GM Kits, MultiD GM SepDrms, MultiD Imap Kits, MultiD Imap SepDrms.

Names are self explanatory Imap kits use a different "extented" mapping than GM, wich is a bit restrictive.

Hope this helps.

These kits are really good btw :D

I'm Ok for the difference between iMap and GM.

But is there any way to get the 2 MultiD kits in ST2 format?

And what are the differences between the 2Dyn and MultiDyn Instruments. I have compared a couple of Kontakt patches and there are more velocity splits for some samples in the kits. Are there other types of differences?

MultiD stands for Multidynamic. 2D is 2 dynamic. ST2 can only have up to 8 dynamics per key so it won't work the same way other formats do if some keys would have more than 8 dynamics. It's hard to make a library compatible with so many formats which is why we stopped with the UFO/Capsule range and are moving toward dedicated format products as downloads on www.esoundz.com In fact, just yesterday we released 6 new "Kontakt Paks" for Kontakt. Last month we released 15 RMX Paks for Stylus. Next month we're releasing a ton of new stuff (mostly loop based but we'll be getting back to instrument releases shortly... even though we did just release all of that Rare and Vintage stuff in ST2... which will make its way to Kontakt, Reason etc. in one form or another).

OK, thank you for the info. :)
