So have any of you nay-sayers actually tried the 1973? I know there are more than enough EQ plugs to go around, but this one really stands out IMHO. I've never heard an EQ that could focus on the 12kHz region and make it so smooth. Never harsh, just smooth. And the smoothness translates over into every listening set-up that I have tried so far.

So anyway, back to topic here, here's an idea: get a bunch of us Mac users to donate some $$ to Daniel's MacMini Fund, and commission him to port all of his plugs over to our side of the camp. If 12 of us send him $50 he'd have enough for a MacMini (or else $600 he could put towards a MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac, etc.....would be his choice of course). Honestly, considering how good and useful his free plugs have always been, I don't mind giving back to the cause.

Any thoughts Daniel?

Then I would HAVE to port it!

But seriously right now my contacts with Macs have been once 5 years ago so they do not cross my path too often but maybe a friend is sitting on one used "ready to be sold" as we speak, you never know....

Regarding Stillwell ect:

Never compare! In this case when we mostly talk flavour you can never agree
because it is about personal taste.

All tools can create miracles/garbage depending on the context.

Just PM me if you are ever serious about looking for funding to make it worth your while. I couldn't fund all of it of course, but I bet we could generate some interest around here if we tried and made things official. And as I mentioned, I'd be willing to donate to the cause. Your plugs are some of the few freebie plugs that I used a bunch on projects right alongside commercial plugs and honestly your plugs were exceptional. When I was contemplating the jump over to a Mac, your plugs were on my list of things to consider as far as what I'd be losing by the switch. I don't regret the move to the Mac but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss your plugs on bass and drums especially.

So anyway, food for thought there. Sleep on it and let us all know if it is plausible to port them to OSX (Universal Binary of course). I'm not at all a programmer and so I may just be having a pipe dream here, but you should know that the demand is there. And of course, I'd be more than willing to help beta test your plugs.

Yeah, I've tried all his plugins, quite extensively, and I'm just not hearing what you're hearing, but respect the dev very much, cool guy. I like the Schwa stuff much better.

Anyway, this is TOTAL IMHO stuff, no point in dragging out.

There really should be a Mac-port fund. Imagine if all Mac audio-guys (especially the pros!) donated a buck a month or something. Still, it's work the devs would have to be willing to do...unless there was a team of Mac devs that they could hand it off too...of course, that's a nightmare for security...

I've came across some loops that it didn't like much, too (esp when in "limit" and/or "boost mode"). But on some stuff it just kills everything else vst (I'll have to test it against my hand-built single-channel fet comp for badass-ness sometime).

this thing really is a masterpiece!
just one thing:
can't youput a simple brickwall on it?
the clipping indicator already shows, when it's clipping, so one could adjust preciseley anyway, but sometimes, if i like it really snappy on a snare, the transient slips through, and i safeley would like to turn up the gainstage until some transients are brickwalled ...
a simple brickwall on/off led would do it ...
can you do that?

yes, i know ...
but i'm not getting it why it's not always done in every compressor ... it's just a so handy feature ... and nobody would be bothered with it, if made switchable ...
