hm, so one single crappy 5th order waveshaper is a tape + tube model these days.
vieris, have you ever seen a saturation curve of some electric circuit?
please tell me that this is just a joke

Ouch. Here come the blows.
They are based of 2 waveshapper saturation codes off of musicdsp. If you want to know my method of reference I matched my favorite shapes from the am-suite.

cool, why not just share some plots of your plug's saturation curves so we can learn and understand. See: users (like me) do have great expectations when they see words like 'tape'. Maybe my analyzer here is crap.
So your plug is modelled after am-suite? which one?

Ok so I took some spectrograph screen shots. This shows frequency response over time.
My test is basic. 1k tone, I slowly bring the fader from nil to full level. All of these plugins can be tweaked to taste so everything here is variable. But you can get a good idea of how it will alter your audio.

I just want to clarify that i didn't model this plug after the am-suite. But I was heavily influenced and used them as my bar to compare. I really respect Saschas work, & is something to work towards.

The saturator sounds awesome, it mashes it up with the shape to the left, and saturates in a normal way to the right.

I'm going to send you another donation, saturations don't come along every day! And +1 on a multi band exciter, or any exciter!

While reading that tube/tape labels I was just expecting to see some decent saturation curves. Instead it shows things like this (which has absolutely nothing todo with tube/tape saturation curves):

Image

Maybe you just pickup Christians Analyzer so you get some more insights in what your plugs actually do. Just a proposal ...

Huh. Not very polite. What your plugs actually do on my quad core, Bootsy, is freeze my comp every time I try to load them in Reaper, so... nobody's perfect.

Anyway, thanks for these GIFTS vieris. Nice of you.

i use both bootsie's and vieris's plugins. and find them both useful..
thanks to both of you.. now kiss and make up ok
