I'm glad to hear the sounds might suck, 2gigs for downloading on a 56k Netzero dial-up is not what I want to go through. I already sample my real guitar and bass, there's nothing I would use over them.

I downloaded this freeby for one sound and one sound only: the nylon guitar.
This sound freakin rocks! It is absolutely the best nylon guitar patch I've heard.
And I've heard quite a lot, including the legendary multi-GB Vienna Horizon nylon.
Yellow tools set a new standard this time, very much surpassing the nylon in its previous "Yellow Tools Pure Guitar". The sound is beautiful, warm, transparent, not dark, and not overly bright. The mids are especially rich and enticing.
As a classical guitar player for over 20 years, I know how difficult it is to capture the nuance of this very human instrument.
I strongly recommend everyone who has liking for classical guitar take the time to give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

sorry, the sounds are all pretty damn good. I love the accoustic guitar, use that mainly.

Does anyone know how to get this to play in FL Studio?
It's all downloaded, but I can't get it to play any note..

that's because you probably moved the sounds in the wrong folder, it works fine here (using fl)

FYI-the entire Independence Free 2 gig collection is on the cover disc of Computer Music Magazine this month, and includes extra sounds made especially for the magazine.

All downloaded, but I have a busy day. Hopefully I can try it out tomorrow! :hyper:

After playing with Indy Free for a while, I'm seriously considering dumping Mach5 and crossgrading.

I especially like VST effect insert support in Pro (tho I'm not sure how useful being able to load VST instruments is; is it acting as a microhost?)
Want to change your additive synth into an addictive one? You just need 5000 Cs!

the main advantage is integration. yes it acts like a sort of minihost.

it's just nice to work like this.

also being able to build effect chains with internal and VST effects is now much easier.

you can connect modulation sources more easily too.

Independence is now becoming more and more... independent. except for the sequencing part, you can use this environment to produce your music as it has a complete mixer with routing alreaédy integrated.

what i would love to see added, is the ability to actually sample your VSTi instruments (and hardware synths for that matter) and even more modulation options (destinations)
