I have on an old cassette tape a really powerful live version of Troy but I've never been able to find where it came from -it's not the same as the version on her live album - maybe it's just from a radio concert or bootleg? - but it's so emotionally intense it's incredible. Not a fan of hers and the studio version of Troy is crap but this is really raw.Gridlocked wrote:Nothing Compares To You - (Sinnead O'Connor version)

Perhaps Peter Hammill's A Louse Is Not a Home, although lots of his songs (and guest appearances as vocalist in other people's songs) would qualify. IMHO, and for what it's worth, I see a lot of confusion in this thread between 'emotionally intense' and 'sappy and sentimental'.

Everclear's 'Wonderful.'
Fortunately, I've never experienced anything like this kid. But I'm raising teens now and it just hits home what vulnerabilities exist during that time of life.

And here was me just wondering. Not about your selection (which, at least to me, simply had to be a joke...) but about certain others.Hovmod wrote:There are so many insanely bad songs in this thread that I should probably make sure you know I was joking. Grease doesn't make me cry.
Isn't there always a time when you have to mention "Time Of My Life" as well?
(And nooooo, I am NOT going to admit that the GF actually likes that one a lot...)
