If you get one, don't forget to track down the SoundDiver editor. There is a FIZMO-only OEM version that you can download at the Yahoo Fiz group. The editor allows access to many paramters that cannot be reached directly from the synth's control panel.blackboyrockinit wrote:amazing sounds, I'm going convince my boss to buy one of these things for our studio.

Hey Ugo!
Yep - most of my stuff is from thr Yahoo group... but I'll PM you a list of what I have just in case
Are the SoundEngine sounds worth the money? They do a Fs1r set too so I might pick em both up

If I remember correctly, I have only tried SoundEngine's FIZMO set. I did a review of it for my old FIZMO Users Group site in 2001.
How useful it is depends on what you are looking for. It is very much a bread and butter set, so it is for people who need something tame and general purpose out of the synth, rather than providing wild stuff that pushes the FIZMO's more experimental boundaries. I have not listed to the presets in many years, but I was pretty impressed by it at the time. (Admittedly, that was a long time ago so my opinions could be somewhat different now, or maybe they'd still be the same.)
Here's is a PDF of my old review.

In case anyone is interested, I've uploaded all the old info that was at the Fiz site I built many, many years ago (which had been offline for years). Since I am perpetually busy with other projects I had neither the time nor the inclination to build a proper new site so I just modified the layout to my equally ancient, outdated, and somewhat ugly Korg N site and dropped the content into there. Kind of a sloppy way to go about it, but at least the content is back online again.

Wow.
I was expecting something truly ugly (like SO MANY old synth sites - especially the digital synth sites). That's not bad at all. And even if it were, the info is much appreciated. Thanks UGO.
