Sorry for the OT but I have a couple of quick questions about the current status:
How much longer will Nebula 2 be available at the current price?
Do Nebula 2 users still have access to all of the content?
That's a BIG thank you to Velinas for the new API's!
They are excellent: everything about the tight, focussed, punchy sound of that eq is in there!
Well worth the work, Velinas!
Hi All,
i'm kind of newbie to these dynamic convolution stuff.
I recently got aware of these topic around Nebula and Acusticaudio
products.
I like to put here a one simple question:
What do you guys think the quality of results in the example of
this API EQ Emulation compares to Waves of API bundle? Do they use same technology?
Thanks

Ok, a patch is available on nebula-programs.com.
Everything working fine now!
Have fun testing a free, "nebulized" API 550b EQ!

Zaphod, was the problem in the programs for the free Nebula version, paid version, or both?Zaphod (giancarlo) wrote:you are right, we just found the reason. Maybe velinas will release a little patch this night

And was it a problem in the Nebula code, or in the program?
(program = preset, code = executable)
Thanks,

Hi Jer,
the problem was only in the recently released FREE edition.
Download a very small patch and you are done.
The full version was not affected.
By the way: It is no "pay" version. You don't need have to pay for the programs- nebula-programs.com is not affiliated to Acustica Audio! We are an idependent community!
But yes, the full version is available only to Nebula customers.
It was a problem in the programs, not in Nebula code.
Cheers,
Velinas

It works. I like. I don't recall the Waves ones sounding this good.
Any premade demo sounds with the Saturation in there as well ?
The pcm80 won't work here either.

well, just to be honest, our emulations are very very good. I don't know any more if "emulation" is the right word.arjen722 wrote:

For each setting of the original gear you are able to decide which "variables do you want". For example you want harmonic distortion (sampled, ok?????), the dynamic behaviour, the time.
You repeat the sampling process for every setting and ask nebula to interpolate among results or not (so it will have a stepped behaviour or not).
More: for this programs velinas used top notch converters and looooooong sweeptones. Even if you connect the same unit to your setup maybe you would not use that class of ad/da converters
It's sampled... how could you get a closer result?
The "commercial" versions (aimed to nebula commercial) are even better, they feature harmonic distortion till 2nd harmonic. Which is an exaggeration, that unit is extremely clean.
if you are interested in the sampling process, here a little document:
tutorial
or a tutorial video
