I'm suprised that I'm almost instantaneously loading up SS2 or ST2 whenever I'm looking for new sounds or for some inspiration. They're becoming my to-go rompler combo. I didn't think i'd use "rompler"s for synth sounds, but the pads and the basses in the ST/SS2 are so amazing that its hard for me to go towards my regular assortment of synths (i have quite a few).

Also, the engines are quite flexible in ST2 for doing some serious audio damage. i was just messing around with the factory drum loops and managed to get some nice weird sounds by stretching it and pitching it while playing with the filters and effects. Its almost like the way I work with my hardware workstation.

The downside is that I'm supposed to be working on this monthly contest but instead I get lost playing with Sonik Synth 2 and browsing its patches. :D

BTW, does anyone know how to load SS2 combis in ST2? I'm using ST2 for everything because of its flexibility. 8)

If you've already loaded the Sonik Synth 2 instruments in SampleTank2, then bringing the combis across should be as simple as copying the files from the Sonik Synth 2 folder to the SampleTank2 folder (similar to the instruments).

I can't remember right now which specific folder it is, but it shouldn't be too hard to find. Let me know if you have trouble.

It's just a folder named Presets.

I create a folder beneath that one named something like SS Presets and copy all the presets into it. I did that for SS2 and SampleTron as well.
Play what you feel and feel what you play.
