Any news about DrumCore GB shipping?

Just wondering if there is a date for shipping the DC GB.
I need to put a note on my door for packages so they'll be left with my neighbor.

Squids said last week that we should allow 2-4 weeks - so that Submersible can make sure that the wide variety of orders is put together correctly and the very latest DrumCore version 2.53.
So, some time towards the end of June.

You can see that the logistics of the supply chain start to get a bit complex

Thanks, Darkstar. I'll be patient too.
Beergeek, I can't buy your supply chain argument. It shouldn't take weeks for a company to put together an order like this. They should have had enough stock on hand to fill the orders. They should have made sure eSoundz had the product ready to go. They had a month to track the GB and estimate the number of units that would be needed at the end. And shipping from anywhere in the world to anywhere else takes less than a week.
I loved the GB, and I'm looking forward to getting DC. But Submersible is playing minor league ball as far as delivering the units. They've had my money since June 2. Most companies I buy from charge you when the order is shipped, not when the sale is over.
Submersible has a great product, but disappointing customer service.

dburns, you make many valid points. I would just say to maybe not judge a company's entire customer service by their shipping department - wait until you are having a real problem with the program. This is certainly a larger than usual order... just like when I special order my burger, I expect it to take a little longer.

If anyone doesn't want us to do group buys with other companies doing fulfillment then let us know. It saves you guys money we'd have to otherwise build into the cost of the product (them shipping to us then us shipping to you). Our group buy system is custom made (no one else has a system quite like it) and it doesn't charge the card while the group buy is going (so in case someone changes their mind before it is over) and does charge at the end of the group buy. It would be much harder to charge only when the product ships. Plus a lot of companies do charge your card and tell you to expect a certain number of weeks for delivery. I'm a consumer myself so I know.
(ie. I've bought plenty of products myself that have taken several weeks for delivery).
In this case they were getting DrumCore 2.53 discs back from press just in time to use those instead and the way they work is they assemble the products there, by hand and one at a time. There are hundreds of these WITH custom add ons and since the price is so low neither they or esoundz can afford to ship anything twice if there's a mistake. It isn't always the case that it takes several weeks to get the product from a group buy but in this case I asked that you guys be patient and understanding of what's needed to get these all out the door as accurately and efficiently as possible. Our job is to get you guys the best deals and I think we've done well on that! Their job is to ship the product out to you guys and they're doing their best. They've already started shipping earlier this week but in batches and there are HUNDREDS of people so... it's an on-going thing. Remember too that group buys are TOTALLY new to them. We've done about 14 of them already or something like that. So we're used to the whole assembly line thing and even work nights and weekends for you guys when we're shipping a group buy so that you get it in record speed. We can't ask everyone to be as crazy as us though!
Anyway, the next group buy (starting today) will be all DOWNLOAD!!!!!! Oh and yes it WILL be ready by the end of the group buy and we might even allow it to be downloaded as soon as it reaches the lowest number (assuming it does). So... see? We listen, we learn, we improve. Our highest priority is making you guys happy believe me.

Valid points, for sure. However, as Squids has mentioned several times, this was a bit of an experiment for both submersible and esoundz. It's the first time (I think) that Squids has hosted a 3rd party dev. GB. And, if I'm reading the tealeaves correctly, it far exceeded submersibles expectations regarding participants. Left to his own products, Squids has been a champ finding the quickest delivery method. But this is the first 3rd party player out of the chute. Personally, I've got no problem cutting them a bit of slack. I've been having a grand time slicing and dicing the bonus loops while I wait.
Plus, at approximately 80% off, if I have to wait for it a bit, I figure that's a fair trade.
BTW, hope you're enjoying this break in the heat up there in Lowell. It's a fine sunny day here in Lexington (MA)
Cheers

I received my GB package last Monday- June 09 -- Everything is OK, except that they sent me DrumCore Ver 2.5.1 Build 22 and not Ver 2.53 like Squids mentioned that they would.
Very Happy with everything -- I paid for 2 day shipping.

Yes, sorry this is because we pressured them to send some out as soon as possible. I was wondering if that might happen. Well, it's not hard to update anyway. But, most people will be getting the 2.5.3 on the disc itself. Those that get it early may get the 2.5.1 installer. Hard to please everyone. The group buy said 2.5 anyway, it just so happened that the 2.5.3 were coming in at the end... could have extended the group buy or something but really the group buys have to end before the end of the month the way we have them set up so... hard to coordinate but really we're just trying to get you guys the product as soon as possible and the latest latest versions whenever we can too. All of this and of course it is out of our own control because it isn't our product.p.war wrote:I received my GB package last Monday- June 09 -- Everything is OK, except that they sent me DrumCore Ver 2.5.1 Build 22 and not Ver 2.53 like Squids mentioned that they would.

Oh, Berf, this isn't the first time we've done a 3rd party dev. We've done tons of IK ones and that is a separate company (even if we're in the same building and can ship from the same location here in the US... and that's the difference right there).

No worries here about the delay in getting the products. Everything was explained up front. Please keep doing the 3rd party GBs!
However it would be nice to know approximately when it will arrive so we can make sure that we don't miss it. (Sometimes we have to get other people to watch for packages left by the door when we aren't at home.)

This is the downside of us not doing the shipping here as you may know... you may be used to the incredible service of Allen and the esoundz team on shipping updates but we can't do that when we're not doing the shipping is the problem. You can ask Submersible but they're probably overwhelmed at the moment I would imagine. I'd say wait a little at least.lethe wrote:No worries here about the delay in getting the products. Thanks for chiming in, Squids. No problem here. I think you've simply spoiled us in the past with quick deliveries.
I'm content to wait. I just wanted to raise the issue, not cause a problem.
Thanks all.
(Down to the 80's here today; much more bearable!)
