Bought it today. GenesisCM is awesome and worth it for sure
The reverb and delay works and you have acces to the sequenser. No stuttering or anything in Sonar 7, but I have not tried to load to instances yet to check the dualcore issue, which CAN (but not always does) make problems in sonar, for instance with Sylenth 1 and Atomic.

There is a multicore bug in the CM edition wich causes a crash when you open more then one instances, after saving and re-opening your project it crashes.lotus2035 wrote:I'm finding the CM version to be unusable in Cubase Essential...When I load up multiple instances of it Cubase crashes instantly..
I dont have the same problems with the beta however which works well enough..
Im using a quadcore machine BTW..
However the updated version of Genesis CM wich will be included in the next CM issue is without the multicore bug, and works fine on multicore systems opening many instances as you want without any problems
I also noticed this is a known Synthedit problem, till last week I found out that the waveshaper2 module in Synthedit causes this bug. after removing this module Genesis CM worked fine with multicore systems without any problems
Cheers!

I loaded up the old beta of Genesis, & was surprised how FATFATFAT it sounds. Yes-instant tarnce track indeed. Will definitely be using this for basslines. I did try to turn the sequencer on for some presets, & it wouldn't work. I'd like to try to do some presets (why bother, I guess since the new version's the thing), but am wondering if they'll even work. Hmm.

So, people should buy the next CM issue to have a bug free version of Genesis...NextGen wrote: There is a multicore bug in the CM edition wich causes a crash when you open more then one instances, after saving and re-opening your project it crashes.

That's too bad. Guess I'll wait for next month's CM, then
Hasn't this Synthedit Dual Core bug been known for *years* now? Still no fix has arrived...

Out of curiosity...have you tried saving a project that has multiple instances in it, then re-opening the project? Some of my SE built synths (which do not use waveshaper 2) will sometimes allow me to open multiple instances without crashing, but they will lock up / crash the host when I try to reload the project. (When multi processing is enabled in the host.)NextGen wrote:I also noticed this is a known Synthedit problem, till last week I found out that the waveshaper2 module in Synthedit causes this bug. after removing this module Genesis CM worked fine with multicore systems without any problems![]()
If you are not running into this at all now then that is very interesting indeed as it could point to certain modules being the trouble makers. Jeff's opinion thus far as been that it is caused by something more deeply rooted in SE, which has caused him to do significant reworking for the still in alpha SE 1.1.

Check the EQ setting - on many patches 'hi' is turned down - sometimes too much IMO.adamtrance wrote:its pretty good, however i find that its missing that clarity i need because the oscs are missing some overtones in the higher range.
Ummet - Can you tell us what your plans are for the commercial version of Genesis (nonCM)?

SynthMaker has its unresolved issues as well - Some creations totally lock and crash my PC (Renegade for one). Given the choice I prefer SE over SM every time.
