How should it be called in Reaper ? Typing "filter", in example, doesn't sort it out...
Is there multiple inputs ? In EnergyXT, loaded as an insert, it is usabel only in mono mode : the stereo mode outputs only the left channel( it is a known bug of Ext2 with SE plugins, afaik).

Yeah! I've been lusting a real Sherm, but my bank account keeps laughing when I ask for one.
Vst's are the glue for my musical monster model. Nuendo is my huff bag.

Seems very interesting, but I don't want to risk a crash with those popups.

Yes, if the DH modules are now free, it just needs some recompiling, isn't it ?S-N-S wrote:yes you gotta get rid of the pop-ups

Yes indeed, I just need to download the free DH_modules and "save as vst" with these ones, but I first got to get myself back on running windows, as I'm pretty happy with 64Studio atm.
I was trying to get SynthEdit running on Linux, but I need to configure some stuff there first (wineasio, wine-jack, ...) and the only reason I'd run windows again is for SynthEdit
It's only because I found out how to use VST's in linux that I thought of finishing the Filterbank with SynthEdit.
Sometimes I'm sick of the propietary world running on I own this, I own that ...
Maybe one day my plugins will be mac-able but I really don't care as i myself will probably never be mac-able
(it's a little expensive no ?)
I could think about selling plugins so I can buy a mac myself, but I don't like to exclude people with less money from enjoying what I made.
... but thanks again for the nice feedback, I'll get myself back into SE soon now
I guess i also have to check out the legal stuff about making a software imitation of a hardware pattented effect ... anyone who has some info on that ?
Cheers!

The feature set is my first concern, so we can learn to use the effect.deastman wrote:Are you attempting to match the sound of a Sherman filter bank, or just the feature set?
Then ofcourse the sound is important too, but this probably will never be completely satisfying, the closer I can get, the better. So, any tips and comparisons to the real version are more than welcome !
Also, I'd like to make it something that can be used with the real one , a sort of VST Sherman FB2 controller .

and if someone with a hardware sherman filterbank, would share some settings with you,can you could easily make some presets for this one too?

Try "FreqRush Filterbank0.3.3" as that's the 'product name' I used ... I'm not familiar with reaper (yet).sinkmusic wrote:How should it be called in Reaper ? Typing "filter", in example, doesn't sort it out...
I'm trying to use the Right Channel input as a sort of side chain channel, to be routed to a so called Trig AR, Trig ADSR, FM, AM, Link In ...sinkmusic wrote:Is there multiple inputs ? but this doesn't work afaik.
For the output, my idea is to simulate the use of the OUT1 output on the real version with a Stereo/Mono switch. In mono mode, only the MAIN OUT output would be used.
In Stereo mode, Left Channel gets OUT1 (=direct output of Filter1 + Byp<>Eff), and Right Channel gets MAIN OUT (=par<>ser + Filter2 + Byp<>Eff).
It's just crazy how much routing options that beast gives in the analog world :p

Yes, but Reaper "finds" names in another way : in example, some SE plugins were named "container". I guess in SE, there is another way to give a pugin a name, different than when saving it as a vst ?
I have tried the names you suggestedn and haven't found it.
ANy Reaper users to help ?
Argh, Ext2 can be quite boring with that. I also have another plugin with side-chaining, and it's the same scenario : the sound outputs only on the left channel grrrrfreakrush wrote:I'm trying to use the Right Channel input as a sort of side chain channel, to be routed to a so called Trig AR, Trig ADSR, FM, AM, Link In ...sinkmusic wrote:Is there multiple inputs ? I hope Ext will fix that issue.
