Im working on a song that sounds like cologne based label Kompakt major key techhouse thingy ( with electronic sounds

1 more question : what is an A major chord called when the "upper note" is lowered a half note?

I want the chord progression to "build downwards" and then up again to A Maj in the most obvious way possible,
anyone help me out with this?
