Aziraphal - Tell Laura I Loved Her -> Very dramatic and soundtrackish. It's easy to visualize the accelerating race car and the slow-motion crash scene. Very nice.

davebv - SpeedKVR -> Technothriller scare track, lots of tension as the protagonist gets trapped inside a deadly machine.

So, I figured I'd try to get back into the competition this month, with a little more time to spare.

However, my submission requires lyrics, and all I've got is this omnidirectional Fostex mic from the '80s. The kids are playing, the neighbor fires up the lawn mower, ambulances pull in to the hospital the next block over -- what do I do? It's not like I have an isolation booth at home...
Apparently, there are some legal, mostly non-controverisal subjects you can't talk about on KVR, or even mention in your sig. Unfortunately, the guidelines don't actually talk about them, so the only way to find out is trial and error.

jwatte, record everything and you'll have a complete sample library ! :D

Cheers,

See, if only I was into environmental sound art, or documenting suburban sprawl or something... But thanks for looking at it from the bright side :-)

Well, tranquilizer darts should take care of the children and the neighbour... not sure what to do about the ambulances, though. :hihi:

Whew, got that song done just in time. The kiddy got sick yet again, so that means single parenting by day and doing job work at night alternately for my lady and me. Isn't it wonderful we live in a free market age :P

If I was to include any lyrics today, you'd welcome jwatte's noisy background to drown them out. We're not talking parental advisory but a full SWAT escort. %$#!!! $#"!!! %$#%$!!! %$#!!!
Every time you use autotune, God kills a kitten.
Please, think of the kittens.

Aziraphal, exactly what I was thinking ! Even uncle Frank wouldn't have said it better ! 8) :hihi:

me109 - Fast : Wow ! Wonderful singing ! I wonder if I would sing so good with a mouthful of new shiny 'coronas'.

Cheers,

core wrote:psy-t - although it's the slow part of the song, I like the intro best. Nice track.
t00nz wrote:psy - t thought the voice was a bit disturbing... didnt sit well with mix, high bpm but more wierd than speedy perhaps.
cheers for the opinions guys :)

Barnadine - View from the Treadmill -> I can't make out the vocals. Nice pace and feel. I like the big thumping sound.

jwatte - Engage -> Harsh, mechanical sounds. Vocals are hard to make out. Not really feeling the speed; pace feels deliberate and controlled.

funkychickendance - Rapid Transit Chili -> Fast, chaotic, with an out-of-sync feeling. There's an odd pause at 0:15 where that clinky arpy sound stops for 2 seconds. The organ pulse at the end seems out of place too. Feels very disorganized, but fast.

Emerald Tablet - 21st Century Rush -> Very rapid feel, nice use of vocoded vocals, well done. Tech note: the date portion of the filename is incorrect.

Polite Company - Running Out Fast -> Videogame feel (except for the drums). Running in circles, very fast but heading nowhere. Nice.

Ok, I'm in.

Former Pharaoh Only 5 seconds?

Psy-T Definitely energetic. Oh now I get it, if you want a longer dance track, you simply loop that one minute.

Cyrosis I dig this. Kudos for using just one instrument.

beanpole Good stuff. The drums should be louder, I'd say.

nikp2000 Good rhythm. But it needs something like a melody or at least a hook over it.

farlukar Mixed a bit low. Otherwise cool stuff.

streifentier Good song, and well performed. Great synth sounds.

Chris Walton Interesting beginning. Cool track overall.

m_luhtala Not particularly fast: the drums make it halftime. Cool song otherwise.

Zombie Queen Bizarre combination of instruments and style. Wicked!

JacK_SoliuM Lots of information in the low frequencies, there....

core Fun stuff. A bit like the acoustic version of Zombie Queen's track.

mellotronaut Nice and noisy. I dig this. The ending is a bit very abrupt.

1-2-Many Fairly straightforward pop. Nice.

Victor.

Ah, you're right. I rendered the wrong mix. Well, imagine it without the pause and the honk at the end. Very disorganized and fast was intentional...although, TBH, I kinda couldn't get into this topic too much...

VicDiesel - Spit -> Interesting flute - wild and crazy. Soundtrack for a character that's just taken peyote in a comedy buddy flick.

oddbod - Mr Velocipede -> Getting a 60's brit pop vibe. Light and quick, very nicely done. The vocal 'buh-buh's make it for me.

DrApostropheX - Super Toilet (Theme) -> I wish my dad had been able to produce theme songs for me when I was in kindergarten; that would have been cool. Funny and entertaining, though it doesn't say 'speed' to me.

Echo Voodoo An appropriate tribute. You're getting an impressively dense yet open sound. Fun.

me109 Way cool!

gag3 More jazz! That's pretty impressive soloing....

Ixox Hey, this is big fun. Your instruments sound very lifelike.

Patrick9 Go East, young man! Or south, whever Morocco is for you. The ending comes a bit abrupt.

shrikantprabhu Interesting soundscape, but it doesn't feel terribly fast to me.

folderol Strange. I kept waiting for the drums to double time it and it never happened. Pleasant sounding otherwise.

Max el Belga Ok, now we're talking speed. Actually, more busy-ness than speed, but cool track anyway.

Victor.
