Squids,
Just asking, but since a lot of us already own CSR or T-Racks, is there any way of substituting one of them for something like the new Metal plugin or the Hendrix one?
I really do not want to go through selling one of the effects, and would be really happy to keep it simple.

My dilemma is that the only thing I don't have from the IK range is T-Racks as a plug-in. And I'm kind of OD'ing on loops and grooves.
So, I may kick back on this one, and see what comes up next month, figuring -- and y'all can tell me if I'm waaay wrong about this -- that I can rely on my cupboard full of very nice Voxengo plugs to get me through the 'analogish sound' urge.

Well, now you've got my attention again...Squids wrote: I have another cool thing for you. If you already own CSR and T-Racks then we'll offer a very good deal for you just on the sounds which are being released as regular esoundz downloadable products at the end of the month. This won't be part of the group buy BUT we'll even let your purchase count in the numbers so it helps everyone else get a better deal in the GB (especially since many of you are good at pushing these things). To top if off we WILL allow epointz to be used on the sounds. The price will be $199 for all three (otherwise it is $149 minus your esoundz discount each so it's better than you'd get otherwise). If you can rack up some epointz with referrals and since there is no limit now to how many epointz you can get then it is even possible to get it for free! 40 referrals. It has been done before!!!! But even if you get close... not bad! These loops are really cool!
Very nice.
Cheers

As earlier reported, there was indeed a small glitch in "the matrix", and the reason why i couldn't sign-up.
Mike fixed it super quick.
So..i'm in at nr 20 and the first discount is "in the pocket" now.
Signing up, i picked a random referral from the The esoundz.com epointz referal thread in the Esoundz forum
The lucky one is: geoffrey.
esoundz name: geoffh

It's at 22 now! This one only has to hit 150 to get the lowest price, so that bar is set low. Nice! These loops are quite high end. There's no question that having these loops in a multi track format will give you immensely more control over the mix, plus you get two excellent plugs to handle that job.
Loops like this command a premium price, so this is a great opportunity if this type of thing floats your boat. If you aren't drooling over these, you probably dont understand what they are. These are loops made the way you would make them if you only could.

beergeek wrote:Think about what these are...multi-track REX, ACID and Apple Loops where the slices line up for each format so they sound the same even if you mix and match the formats. That's really minor compared to the fact the slices match up from each mic in a set and on some sets, I'll bet there were 10-12 mics.
Think about loading this into Drumcore's 48 pads...slice up a snare track into 1, 2, 3 and 4 bar pieces, gabrielize them a few times for variation and save those. Load them onto separate pads. Do the same for the toms etc using the same rulesets. When you're done, simple key-presses give you a wide variety of grooves from one loop. They're loops so you get a more human feel to start and now you've introduced even more controlled randomization.
This is a bad drum programmer's dream Seriously, I suck at midi drum programming. Probably just don't have the patience. This is the solution for me, YMMV
Mmm. Now, that's a much better pair of sales pitches. My MIDI adventures are under control, thanks to discovering EZPro (yeah, I know, it's been staring me in the face for years). And I'm beginning to appreciate Rex in some circumstances. Multi-mikes are always good when you're doing simple acoustic music -- to me, they disappear in the sludge when I do loud stuff. Let me see where the funds stand at the end of the month. Couple that with T-Racks for free, and the hassle of retailing the CSR is no big deal...

From your description here, I realized I didn't understand the implications of multitrack loops. There are still gaping holes in my knowledge, but it's only a hobby for me anyway at this point. Nevertheless, your post put me back on track to seriously consider this group buy, after I learn more about what multitrack loops can do for me.beergeek wrote: Think about what these are...multi-track REX, ACID and Apple Loops where the slices line up for each format so they sound the same even if you mix and match the formats. So theoretically I could take toms from one loop, and kicks and snares from another and mix without bleed over of other mic'd drums that I don't want within the multitrack loops? If I understand that correctly, I like it a lot. If I am saying something completely wrong, please tell me.
Another noobie question: what does a multitrack groove look like? Is it a single file, or a group of files - one for each mic?

It's a group of files, one for each mic...I'm going to do a little demo. I won't be using Drumcore cuz I don't have mine yet.ZombyWoof wrote:From your description here, I realized I didn't understand the implications of multitrack loops. And after reading through what I wrote, I feel I should clarify...you can't slice these up in Drumcore.
If you are going to slice these up before import and keep the REX capabilities, you'll need ReCycle. You could also do the same with the ACID or Apple Loops.
BUT you can still import REX, ACID or Apple Loops, gabrielize them and export them in REX, ACID or Apple Loops. You would then do the slicing into bars in your DAW.
Anyway, hopefully I'll have a demo up in the am...

No, there's bleed...when I say set, I mean a groove. You would have to gabrielize all the parts to the same ruleset(s) so that the bleed was gabrielized as well.ZombyWoof wrote:So theoretically I could take toms from one loop, and kicks and snares from another and mix without bleed over of other mic'd drums that I don't want within the multitrack loops?
You could take toms from one groove and load it on another but I would think the results would be a bit erratic
The multitrack grooves allow you to have each mic part on a channel to add effects to individually. So I guess, you could do what you were saying and eq/gate out the bleed. You would probably get decent results on the Ringo and Motown stuff but not the Bonham. Just MHO
My point was that you could use Drumcore with these in a number of different ways, in effect producing whole new multi-track grooves or use the pads and trigger groove sections via midi.
Problem is, I have ADD, so my mind races thinking of all the stuff I want to try

I'm not really interested in the drum stuff especially after getting Drumcore but if this drops to the lowest price I might sign up just to get CSR which I want to have...I can sell my existing T-racks licence later on I suppose..
