Just a quick question, since it's nearly impossible to sift through the 33 pages of this discussion:

1. This program looks awesome! Does it integrate with other programs like synthedit and synthmaker?

2. Looks like you guys were tweaking some kind of GUI code. Do I need to learn a language to use it?

#1: it exports a "strip" - think of it like a movie reel. The strip, a *.bmp, has a user defined number of cells, each a slightly different version of the same picture. Synthedit and Synth maker load these .bmps and then "animate" them by displaying each one in succession, like an old film reel.

#2.I know no gui code at all, hence my thrill with this program.

* layer control pane instead of tabs (not yet support layer groups)
* .knob file thumbnail viewer on Explorer (xp/vista both available)
* .msi installer packaged

if you had tried the .reg file uploaded before and failed, you may need to delete the old registry entry for thumbnail browsing by following commands.

Program files\g200kg\knobman>regsvr32 /u KnobBrowser.dll
Program files\g200kg\knobman>regsvr32 KnobBrowser.dll

I like the layer control pane, works well

Thanks for the Layer > VisibleSolo function, really handy

After running KnobMan119Setup.msi, the existing KnobMan.exe and KnobMan.chm were not replaced, I first had to manually remove these 2 files and run KnobMan119Setup.msi again before the installer would correctly install these 2 files ...

Do we REALLY need a MSI installer, to be honest I don't really like MSI installers

Request:
Is it possible to give us an old-fashioned zip-file with just the files as a 2nd option

hmmm... okay that is problem.

another problem im worrying is that the recent windows security-patch dont believe the help-file(.chm) from .zip. The help shows 'Error' until the user checking 'Allow'.

g200kg, found a small bug:
the preview doesn't display right, look at the riffles of the led circle on knob 3, 4 and 5:
