I bet you can't either. :P
Course I can! They always write it somewhere on the packet, no matter which brand. It's so you don't mix it up with the deep heat muscle ointment.

I started learning keyboard/piano last year (im 29 now) for an hour and a half a week. I'll never be a great pianist but i now have a full understanding of the theory side of things and how to play, i use my sequencer as an additional tool, to correct fuckups, i record the left hand parts with my right hand, i record one bar at a time and layer up midi, and sometimes i still draw things in.

The point is i can confidently get my ideas out of my head better than i ever could, and make realistic sounding piano parts. So yes, definitely you should learn.

To echo what everyone else has said, no it's not too late.

Another way to look at it is, you don't want to not follow through on this, and then ten years from now, ponder why you're 38 and still can't play the piano worth a damn.

which is a very nice thing. I guess, as a side-effect of the enormous possibilities we have now (whereas in 1975 we all had to be very rich to be able to do what we can now) it might be that in 2020 quite a lot of people will be able to play, say, 5-8 instruments in a way musicians who master one instrument rather perfectly would raise their eyebrows. But with those 5 or more instruments played "nice" - you can achieve so many things, compose better music and so on!
Of course playing in a really artistic band, or wanting to play Schumann's toccata opus 7 on the piano is still very difficult. But even that *can* be done starting with 28, if you ignore other things - like KVR-reading every day for an hour maybe :).
Just that the first scenario (playing "not too bad") will be more important than it was a decade ago, just not replacing the real artists on their 1-2 instruments.

I really enjoy sitting down and playing with my organ, as I've gotten much better with time and that whole age thing I find I can play with it for longer periods of time and it's much more gratifying

But surely a few one hour sessions with a professional would help you with your rhythm, fingering and when to press down with your feet. Practice for 3 or 4 hours every day and who knows? Maybe one day you'll be playing with your organ before a hushed audience in a posh theatre. Hell, if Elton John can do it...

that could get very expensive fast, not too mention illegal...I'm not even gonna ask what you expect her to do with her feet :scared:

3 or 4 hours? If you can do that you're indeed a god :hail:

hushed? I suspect it would be hard to hear the hush over the roar of laughter...

i get round this by playing realy badly and editing after
or drawing things in which is much easier but i feel like its cheating .
do you know most young producers aint even bothering learning piano theses days instead just drawing them in in programs like fl studio (but there songs are so good ).
anyway im starting a music producer course in september and i wanna get decent at the piano so i can make good dance music!!! (not just trance happy hardcore scouse house etc .)
do you lot think im gonna struggle to learn at 28 ?
and are there any examples of someone learning late and still making a splash in the industry ?

and are there any good free chord guides ?
thanks in advance 4 your time . 8)
sorry but this is a really stupid question. Why on earth would 28 be too late? Why would 78 be too late to learn something new? Uggh this was so stupid!!!!!

Actually, I never learned how to play. I just turned on some samples and fluttered the keys about in time to the music on a disconnected keyboard.

No one's noticed so far. :phew:
