Is it possible to somehow include us more 'electronica/techno/trance producers in this group buy by ie. offering another sample set of percussive/groove orientated loops, or something along those lines?

I think then you would get a LOT more people going for this [potentially] awesome deal... I'd certainly be one of them!!

Just an idea

Personally, I don't think that electronic loops would go well with the "flavour" of this group buy, and so I don't think you are gonna see any added.

Even though electronica is not my thing, I did check out your music on MySpace and quite liked it. Very nice and tasteful. I even bookmarked the page, actually. :-) Bravo! I could see how the more realistic sounding drums would probably not fit so well with those compositions... but then again, I'd be curious to see how that would sound. Might even make them groovier. ;-)

Since Techno/Trance is based on electronic kits, and since these sets are designed to give you the charicter of "real" drum kits in a mic/track set up, there might not be such a kit in this series. (Of course I could be wrong on that) That said,,, These multitrack loops would be great for adding wild filter effect variations on individual tracks that might make an interesting twist on them that could be used for techno/trance type stuff. Taking advantage of the REX features, you would have a lot of tools for creating some really cool grooves. Having these in multi track, opens creative possibilities that stereo loops just don't allow for customizing your sound through individual control of effects on the tracks.

63 now,,, it's definately moving forward.

Edited,,, Zedd beat me to the post on this one, but I'll leave the thoughts, FWIW.

Hey Thanks for your feedback!! :) Totally STOKED by your comments re my tunes!

Don't get me wrong, I am a complete Motown/Beatles/Zep freak! In fact the first gig I ever saw was The Supremes.. Way back when... (showing my age a little here eh?) .. And the Beatle's sound is like a backdrop to my life!

I too have considered the added groove possibilities in using these loops.. But would I use/need so many?

I'm just looking to see if it would be possible to 'sweeten' the deal in a more like I said electro/groove orientation.. The plugs themselves can be utilized in any genre of music production, true... However I think that the Rock/pop theme of the loops could be putting a whole heap off jumping in on this! Me included..

Thanks once again for you feedback..

Gonna drink a cool beer and mull it over.. Good luck

Oh.... and to anyone here who does not know Esoundz and IK, I have dealt with them in the past and can only say that they are fantastic loyal people to deal with!

This just clearly isn't for those styles. But you bring up a good point. We should do a group buy on loops and sounds in those styles. So maybe in the future we'll come up with something. This, however, is what it is. Classic Rock, Funk and Soul. Creatively it CAN be used in many other styles but... that's up to you.

Ok, demo as promised....

Understand that this was put together quickly so the arrangement isn't done and consequently, the mix isn't done either. It's really not my genre either. Is that enough disclaimers for the suckage?

Anyway, here it is:

Using the grooves from one tempo in one style, T-Racks and CSR...guess which style the loops came from....

Is anybody using the free rexes in RMX - how does it work? And if anybody's got Drumcore - how do the loops behave there?

I test imported the Ringo beats example download into DC. You end up with the various mics as individual loops and it does not really work, but then that is not really the way DC was designed originally (as a librarian).

As I said at the time when I posted up the examples (around page 9 - my PC is playing up & wont let me create links at the mo) I think I would probably only import say the overhead, or room mic track into DC to allow me to preview the full multitrack against the track I was working on.

That does mean that you could not use the DC Gabrieliser function to chop up and rearrange the tracks, as you would have to do that to each individual mic and get the same Gabrieliser mix up for each.

I am pretty much certain I shall jump on this probably more for TRacks & CSR than the loops, but you can never have too many loops can you.

I could wait and hope for IK to do another deal so that I could get the two for the price of at the crossgrade price BUT I would still not have the loops which for me are the icing - without in any way being a "fan boy". If I was not interested I think I would just let this GB pass me by & not get involved - HINT :D [/i][/url]

The Ringo beat demo is fun to listen to. There's a definite emotion (for me at least) that comes out of it. Fun and poppy, the way they originally did this stuff. You can almost see Ringo in the old 'moptop' bobbing his head as he's hitting the skins.

I was thinking about the request for 808/trance/tech beats a few pages back. Clearly they don't fit in with the styles featured in this GB. However, one of the cool things about the Addictive Drum program is the way they turn some very basic accoustic kits into machine kits using only the onboard effects. Now, I haven't had a chance to play around much this month as all my computers are in the shop (motherboard fried on the main DAW and a power surge took out my laptop--this may explain my extra crankiness this month- :hihi: ), but I was thinking about the possibility that the Ringo Beats could be chopped up into kits on GURU and tweaked into machine kits. I really want to try this, but I don't think I'll have the opportunity until later in the week when I get one of my computers back.

Anyone else intrigued by this?

Anyway, looks like the GB is back moving along nicely. Get it while you can.

I had planned on throwing these beats into Live and slicing them up. The main reason I joined this GB was for the plugins but the beats will be a great addition.

It's amazing what you can create from a small kernal of new material. Always a fun time. And the way the multis are set up on these loops there's a lot of interesting ancillary sonic material to work with. :D

I'm interested/intrigued as to what can be done with these...

listening to the demo's on the Esounds site, it isn't so much the Motown samples that don't do it for me groove/sonically wise.. But the Ringtones/Bonzobeats. I'd be interested to see you base a electronic feel around these in particular..

Also a question.. What advantage is there when you're talking 'groove', in having to remap these 'grooves', so far away from their original? Doesn't that defeat the object of using samples in the first place?

Thanks

No advantage whatsoever, AFAIK. I was just talking about a curiosity really. The fact that you could take a Ringo loop and create an 808 kit out of it is something that I think would be fun to do. But only for kicks and giggles. And it would just be a kit. So you'd need a corresponding MIDI file to really apply the Ringo groove to the newly created 808 kit. I believe I might be able to do this in GURU (create the MIDI file as well as the kit), but with my DAW on the fritz, I've got to wait to try it.
