We're working on BFD2 so hopefully it will be soon. All of the Studio ProFiles kits will be made available in BFD2. More news coming on that.gmon72 wrote:How soon for the BFD2 support? Will this only be the Gold edition?
Is there a webpage explaining the gold edition? I can't seem to find it on the studio profiles site.
Thanks!

You're right, that doesn't seem confusing. Maybe my confusion had more to do with the Belvedere than it did with your prior post!Squids wrote:Anyway, Drum Masters Gold has most of what you'd need and you can cherry pick more from the particular drummers you want more from. You had it right. Not that confusing.
Looking forward to the release.

Yeah... I know it isn't cheap. But, the drummers get royalties on these things so it has to make sense for them too. It's a higher end product with more people involved than say a Sonic Refill or Expansion Tank product which is mostly just us (even though we sample a lot of our friends' gear who make tons of records too). Lately we've just been working with the industry's top musicians, producers, engineers... but we have no ego and we appreciate their work so we love bringing it to the rest of the world. That's even if it was a long lost library from someone like Bruford or Gadd. Hey, I always wanted to have those myself! So I though that others who didn't know would too. Drum Masters gives you an overview of a lot of that stuff but not EVERYTHING. Plus if we did that then it would never come out because it is an on going process.mlyon wrote:You're right, that doesn't seem confusing. Hey Squids - promise I'm a bit more on topic this time.
If you have some time, can you enthuse a little about Jerry Marotta? I wouldn't mind some Squidilicious accounts of his style of drumming, what he was like in person etc..?
Is there the possibility that we're going to get a great selection of all things Marotta available in the artist profiles? Looks like all kits are going to be BFD2 only?? If so - bummer, but how about the REX multi-tracks and or stereo tracks, is there an indication of how many interesting styles etc.. are going to be available for him?
If I was of a mind to - how much Marotta am I going to be able to get into my music?
Regards
Caleb

Absolute YAY - a new Studio Profiles for download - Jerry Marotta.
I was about to purchase this when I see that another page comes up asking me if I want to purchase more. I froze with indecision.
Now I'm going to have to go home and listen all over again and see if I should add a pack or two.
Tell you what, I've probably said it once or twice before, but eSoundz is just awesome in terms of deals/savings vs quality!
Squids - here's a big
to you and the team!
Regards

Short version: Jerry Marotta is amazing and unique! His style is so cool. Great guy too! Really nice, funny... you saw the impromptu video interview right? He's got that thick NY accent and he can be a little "wired" in the studio. What a genius though really. His feel is so cool! Very cool mix of world music and rock/pop. If you google him you can come up with all sorts of stuff. He's played on lot of records. But of course his innovative drumming with Peter Gabriel is probably what made him most famous. We redid a lot of those drum tracks too. Rhythm of the Heat and things like that... pretty darn awesome. This title is a freakin' no brainer man. They all are really but this one... we were lucky to get him to do it honestly. It's one of my personal faves.
