Checked the above site out and am less than impressed. The site seems to say they are making availaable samples for all orchestral instruments, but only a few are available and the quality is fair at best. So I"m saying pass this site up

I'm looking for a recording of the sound of SMPTE time code - anybody?
.wav preferred, MP3 okay.
royalty & cost-free would be great!

Does it have to be SMPTE exactly or are you just after something similar sounding. If I remember rightly - old program loading tapes for the ZX Spectrum 48k sounded quite similar and there are a few free downloads of them available on the net.

SMPTE was my preference, as it's a constant signal, always cycling...

but this is a hot tip...lead me to a world I didn't know existed...even found some old C64 tapes (for nostalgia purposes).
I think I can certainly "fake" a time code signal by looping a segment of some of these tape recordings.

thanks very much!

Large RAR archive of royalty free samples.

Edit: Opened it when I got home. It's only sound effects. Not bad though.

Edit: Site seems to have illegal samples.

@android: I think mona is just racking up posts until he/she can post spam with a URL. No worries, if and when that happens they'll all vanish. And if I'm wrong I'll be glad of it.

Awesome, Thanks!
